Well, I'll either be 150 if I bring the undead, or less than 150 with the Rats. Lizzies won't be coming unfortunately. |

Ah but think of the Glory of bringing down Geggster. Think of the TBB bragging rights.
And I guess my NAF ranking will be 150. and probably end up lower. <dream>Or not </dream> |

Just been looking at the timetable...
There's no gap between Games 2 and 3 in the afternoons. Now you're not going to get Game 3 underway 2 hours after Game 2 gets underway.
(Sat) Game 2 starts 14.00, Game 3 starts at 16.00. Now Game 2 is going to finish at 16.00. Then you've got to get all the results entered before you can announce the next round (while those of us that smoke go outside and do so), after which players have got to move their stuff to the tables etc.
Game 2 at 14.00, Game 3 at 16.00, Day End at 18.00 just ain't gonna be happening.
Not that I'm bothered of course, as long as they're not intending to kick us out the venue at a certain time or anything. |

Good point. Then again, at the WPS challenge thingy there were only a couple of games that overran.... but as I remember, each and every round 'someone' over ran anyway. Always a nice idea to have a 'breather space', otherwise known as 'muck up time'.
It all depends on how practiced the data input team is and what system is being used to choose the next opponents as in theory if it is only one or two games that overun then 95% of the gamers can be on to their next game before they finish..... |

yeah, that dawned on me after I printed and sent those out. I've talked to the woman and she says we can be reasonably flexible with the times so long as we don't take the piss (not quite her words though )
I've got the missus helping entering scores so we should be OK for time - Tim Ibe's spreadsheet is great and does all the hardwork for me ![Smile](modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

So I've left it really late but I have not booked accomodation yet for Camcarnage....
Any suggestions for the nearest B&B / cheapest?
Paramount to this decision is travel as I will be getting to Cambridge via train and therefore need either a really close B&B or a B&B where there also resides a cool coach I can snag a lift to the venue off...
What have folks got organised so far? |

I'll come and get you from the station on Sat. morning - PM me for my mobile number.
As for places to stay, PM Darkson or LousiX as I think they're all in the same place.
I wil also be taking my Dad & Bro (event photographer and odd man out respectively) to the station on Sunday night, so can fit in one other. Or maybe do two trips... maybe ![Wink](modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
To everyone who has paid me from this last Saturday forwards - due to the impending postal strike and the chance your packs won't reach you I will not be sending out any more packs. However, since many people like to keep the packs for posterity, I will have your pack & ticket on the day.
Remember to download the info pack for the rules, and the schedule is as follows:
Saturday
10am - Arrival and registration
11am - First match starts prompt
1pm - Lunch break and Painting Judging (looks like I have to stay in the hall & watch stuff, as well as do scores )
2pm - Second match starts
4pm - Assuming all scores in and no problems, third match starts.
6pm (ish) - Day One ends.
Sunday
10am - Arrival, hangover recovery, maybe even free paracetamol
10:30am - Match four starts
12:30 - Lunch
13:30 - Match Five
15:30 - Match Six
17:30 - Awards Ceremony
18:00 - Tournament End. "Mr. Taxi" Candlish starts taking people to the station.
I've been asked by the church hall owners that we keep the noise down on Sunday morning as there is a service downstairs, although she has no problem with the associated applause etc. for the awards ceremony. I figured most people would be too hungover to want to make any noise on Sunday morning anyway. Also, parking in the church car park may be somewhat limited on the saturday morning due to a jumble sale but there should be plenty in neighbouring streets (with no fear of being towed away either )
Remember - PM me for my mobile if you think there is even a remote chance you'll need it. |
