Pushing out of bounds vs. "Side Step":
My Amazons aren't the Strongest Team...
Their Armor is one of the lowest in the game...
Being that they start with "Dodge", and the 2nd skill I pick is "Block", Skull Pow is the Only thing that can put me down...
Of course the "Tackle" Negates the Dodge skill...
- but anyways
If, I have a player on the Wide-Out and that player has "Side Step", and an Opponent pushes me out, can I "Side Step" to avoid the Crowd Maming my Player??? |

Yes, provided that there is an empty square to move to. ( I have heard that some people play that you cannot use side step if you are knocked over. If that is the case in your league then if they get a pow, you're in the crowd.)
Just to make it clear, that was a House Rule, about not being able to use side step on a pow, that I have heard of from several unconnected players. |

You CAN use side step to choose the square you've been "POW'd" into

You CAN use it on a pushback/knockdown, as has been quoted. You can't use it if no empty squares are adjacent to your player.

Ok, on the Out of bounds...
Is it the Adjacent square from the destination Square, if I didn't have "Side Step" or the Adjacent Square from the Original starting square????
X = Empty Square
A = Amazon Player
O = Opponent
Before the Push:
XOX
XAX
--------------------------Out of Bounds
After the Push:
XOX
XXA
--------------------------Out of Bounds
__________________________________________________________________________________
Does the Opponent need to follow up???
What I'm working up to...
Is it, adjacent squares of the "Pushed" Player or adjacent squares to the "Pushing" Player???
I remember last season against a Halfling team. I pushed 1 of the little buggers back and he appeared behind me, enabling him to dodge out and get into my Back field, to continue on to advance to the End Zone.
X = Empty Square
A = Amazon Player
H = Halfling
Example:
Before the Push-
XXX
XAX
----------- Line of Scrimmage
XHX
XXX
After the Push-
XHX
XAX
----------- Line of Scrimmage
XXX
XXX
I am Definitely going to get "Side Step", but I want to be using it properly... |

it's squares from the pushed players perspective.
for example, a normal block is (A = attacker, D = defender, X = not allowed square, O = allowed square)
X X X O
X A D O
X X X O
In the case of a sideline:
X X X
X A X
X D X
-------
O O O
But with sidestep it becomes:
X X X
O A O
O D O
-------
O O O |

Diagonally:
X X X X
X X A X
1 D X X
---------
O O X X
If 1 is not occupied then they must go there. if it is then D is in the crowd. With side step:
X X X X
O O A X
1 D O X
---------
O O O X |

This is illegal. It COULD be:
X X X
O A O
------- LOS
O H O
O O O
and if the attacker follows up the it is possible for one of the follwiong to occur:
X X X
H X X
------- LOS
X A X
X X X
X X X
X X H
------- LOS
X A X
X X X
This one is NOT allowed though, and only a buffoon would say it is
X X X
X H X
------- LOS
X A X
X X X |

Indigo,
Either your diagram is unclear or you're in error on your next-to-last diagram. It is NOT possible for the attacker and defender to switch positions in ANY circumstance. The attacker gets the pushback, the defender chooses a square, and then the attacker decides whether to follow up. Since the attacker's square is occupied when the defender chooses his square, he can't mysteriously appear in the attacker's old square.
Otherwise, I think you've got it right, assuming I understand your diagrams!

Yes, Chet is correct. The next to last diagram is not legal because the follow-up happens after the push is done. |

Like Khankill said, side steppers choose where to go before the attacker follows up. So you can't move into the square originally occupied by the attacker. |

"Side Step" Re-Visited:
Here this one-
Where to place the "Side Stepper"???
It should be legal, I just wanna check...
1 of my catchers just recently picked "Side Step"...
C = Catcher with "Side Step"
O = Orc Player
E = Empty Square
X = Destination Square
1 ) The start of the move, b4 any player does any actions...
EOE
ECE
EEE
EEE
2 ) The Orc Blocks and does follow up...
EEE
EOE
ECE
EEE
3 ) The Adjacent Squares behind the Catcher are Legit spaces to move to, correct???
EEE
XOX
XCX
XXX
4 ) Meaning, that if I choose the Space Behind, I won't have to Dodge out on her next turn, correct?????
EEE
EOE
EEE
EEC
** I just picked this skill for the 1st time, and never used it before, a former Halfling team Coach suggested it to me, to pick it...
He said the player with the "Side Step" skill can be a real pain in the Arse, for the other team... |

Follow up comes after where you are pushed to. So the side stepper is moving from his original square. |

How a normal block works:
1. Opponent hits your player and gets a pushback.
2. Opponent picks one of three squares adjacent to your player as dictated by the rule book.
3. Opponent decides whether to follow up.
How Side Step works:
1. Opponent hits your player and gets a pushback.
2. YOU pick any empty square adjacent to your player as the target square.
3. Opponent decides whether to follow up.
