I'm looking at an orc team and putting either guard or block on my black orcs. Which is more useful in the long run? |

Block.
Stand Firm & Guard is useful though. |

Guard does not help them get SPPs. So give a BOB guard for his 1st skill and he will take forever to get that 2nd skill.
If you play under the current rules I'd give them Piling On 1st. |

Khaine, sorry to be harsh, but I think your poll theme does not have much point: your question is just too general. Is that a team for a long term league (i.e. 20+ games) or run for a short duration, like a 6 game tournament?... It matters not only for long-term development, but also in the way skills are gained: are they allocated at will (tournament style) or depending normal player's progression (i.e. as SPPs are gained...)?
Obviously, the type of races you are likely to face, as well as the level of your opponents, is also a factor.
For a long-term team, I would follow DoubleSkulls' advice: piling on.
For a tournament, the more strength teams I'd be likely to face, the more would I be prone to give guard, although I'd rather give it to blitzers. The more agile teams are present, the more would I be prone to give block (actually, I'd rather give tackle first to blitzers)...
And if I have a great proportion of inexperienced opponents, then I would focus on giving my BoBs block to play a lame hitting style and collect casualties for the Most Casualties Caused trophy... |

Or you can just take PO on all the BOBs which will get you many more casualtlies than block. |
