I was planning my Norse team ready for the Camcarnage and came up with three teams.
1) 12 players (2t,2C, 2Blz, 6line, 3rr)
2) 13 players (2T,2C, 2Bz, 7 line, 2rr)
3) 12 players (1T, 2C, 2Bz 6line and a ogre)
Doing a bit research into the players going to Camcarnge I found out (in theory) 22 players and their (highest rating) team. Interestingly I found 12 to be bashy teams so I am thinking option 1 is not very good and i am tempted to go for number 3 but have never used an ogre before. What do you lot think?
I don't like normally asking advice like this, i prefer to find out through playing, but since my chances of getting a couple of games together are slim I thought I'd give it a go, because taht is what the forum is for.
Also as I was browsing in this forum for more info on Norse I saw a lot of the same threads or simular questions, so what if one of us (i don't mind doing it) compile the info given into an article and people can access it easier.
Just a thought

Good research, but what if people decide to take a different team to normal
Haven't got a clue what I'm taking...
Would not take an Ogre though, go for extra players. |

I think #3 is the roster I used at Res when I came in 8th place. I found it was pretty good if you don't get too unlucky with casualties... |

I'd be tempted to drop a Lineman from each roster and get an Apoth, just for when your Blitzer skulls out and kills himself (again!) |

darkson i would do that for a league team but i figured for a tourny i'd not bother cos he is gonna die anyway. ( ok ok reroll and you will hear a scream across cambridge "why didn't i listen to darkson WHY)
i'm edging towards 2nd one but i am itching (i knew she was bad news) to paint and maybe convert an orge for a norse team, but time is slowly running out.
i think i only have 11 painting days left (i kind of work every other day long shifts) and my girlfriend somes back from france on tuesday.
why do these things creap up on you |

Yeah, bu if your Blitzer dies that's a 90k player gone, and you're replacing him with a 50k lino.
If you use it on any positional player, including the Ogre, you'll make the money back.
I know I took a Apoth to the BB tourney, just to use for when the 1st GR or SV became a Cas, and I know it was worth it then.
Jusp my 2p worth. |

I've seen successful tourney Norse that didn't take any Blitzers (as they are, in his opinion, overpriced).
Ogres are pretty good as sitting in the LOS and getting hit. |

at the moment i have to say i'm am leaning towards 12 players, apoc and 2 rr (this could have to do with it not being payday and lack of painting time) but hopefully I will go with the ogre (are they still buy one and GW online store sends you a random one? )
i think DS is right as it would give me more options on the LOS and being able to go toe to toe with some of the bashy teams but i also like the idea of thirteen with an apoc .I guess i will not know till the day of the train to cambridge |

I used #3 at the Deathbowl which i won last weekend, so it can't be all bad! Played mostly against bashy teams (wood elf, orc, lizardman, dwarf, and in the final game wood elf, orc and dwarf). Won the CAS count every game, even when playing against the orc team with 3 piling on black orcs or the dwarf team with 5 guards. It was my first time ever playing norse.
I would have taken an apoth but they were not allowed for the final round, so decided against it.
What did you finally use and how did it go? |

I went for ni=umber one cos thats all the models i had. Came *cough*2nd *cough* off bottom and am now 505th in the rankings. Even though could blame bad team selection I doubt I would have got anymore points. Good tourny though, improved as a player (would not take much) |
