Though the Pact would be nice to play, they aren't quite legal. If they were, we'd all play them! ![Laughing](modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) |

I am working on the rules pack at the moment, it should be up this week.
Chaos Pact won't be allowed but there may be a couple of new teams depending on what the BBRC comes up with!
BTW the drive to Ann Arbor was 4.5 hours from Toronto. |

The points don't make sense. You get exactly the same amount of points if you lose by one TD as if you draw! |

Do you have OT? It doesn't say so in the tournament rules. I'm assuming you're not using the official OT rules, with a D6 rolled at the end of the first OT to determine the winner. That would suck in a tournament!
If there isn't any OT, and you're losing by 1 point, then there's no incentive at all to try and tie the game. If there is OT, than at least you get a shot at the win, so i guess it makes sense a little...
Another thing. I assume that the entry fee is in Canadian dollars? In the last page about the NAF, you should either say that it costs $15 or that it costs US $10, otherwise people will think that's CAN $10.
Everything else seems all right! |

You are right, no OT. We are real men in Canada, none of this shoot out stuff.
The fees are in Canadian dollars as well.
I think the incentive is there to try and win by 2 points and get the extra bonus... John can probably explain it better. I am all for hearing other opinions though. |

Without looking at this ruleset right now, there's the usual points on this to consider.
Less 'dead' games in that coaches down by 2 TDs still have something to fight for in terms of tourney points, therefore hopefully keeping more games alive for more people for longer. If you're losing by one there's no incentive to tie the game? How about your NAF CR?
I also believe it encourages attacking play which is always good for separation. If it's 2-2 late in the game you've got nothing to lose (in terms of tourney points) by going for the 3-2 win at the risk of turning it over and losing 2-3. Coaches are less liable to settle for a draw if that's an option.
I know a lot of people hate a draw counting the same points wise as a loss by 1 on principle, but I can see some merit in it. That sort of system has certainly affected some decisions of mine in the past in close games |

What i didn't like about that system is that it rewards the 2-0 stall. So if i'm up 1-0 and have the ball and have the advantage in CAS and men on pitch there's no reward for running it and trying another drive. (Anthony, you know what i'm talking about, not stalling cost me 20 points in our game, well worth the fun though )
I'd add a +5 pt. bonus for any additional point of TD difference. So i get some reward for putting my +10 blowout bonus on the line.
I'd also give only 10 or maybe 15 base pts. for a loss, so a close loss will be 20 to 25 and still worse than a draw if i don't manage to get "But we hurt them!".
I'm also a big fan of special prices like most touchdowns, most cas, best stunty, best comeback, best painted, best sportsman instead of an all-in-one-ranking with prizes from 1 to 7. It gives coaches outside the top rankings something to really play for in the last round.
Of course that's only my opinion ... |

There is incentive to win by as much as you can. I don't know if John made everyone aware of this but TD difference breaks ties in points, so it is important to score as much as you can.
We will have extra awards at the Open, last year we had Best Painted, Most Sportsmanlike, Wooden Spoon, etc. |

I just finished reading the rules for the tourney, Did you leave out the "You should see the other guys" bonus (tie or loss, but caused the most casualties) intentionally or as an oversite? I like the tourney provided D6's. |

We call that the "Bag o' Wheat" bonus, it's a TBBf tradition
I heard a rumour that there might be some Spanish Team presence...! That would be cool but I hope they don't feel we are bad hosts if we lay the smack down on them ![Very Happy](modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

Good, from the above statement it appears you have to win the game to get the bonus. Since that is not the case, you may want to change the wording a bit.
