Hello coaches.

I don't know if this is a good place to complain, but I don't have any other site to do that.

I did an order with new wave (a dwarf BB team) in june, and the order never arrives. I send them lot of mails, phone calls, and so on, but they never answer. of course, they take the money a week later. finally, I order the dwarf to GW England, and the team arrives 12 dias after that.

Now; I want my money back, or different figures, but I cannot have a comunication with new wave.

please give an advice, or tell me what you do if you were me.

Thanks for your help.

Did I mention that I live in Colombia?

It was a bad move to do business with New Wave at all. There has been ton of negative feedback on them.

Keep bugging them is the only thing you can do for now i guess.

I've heard that New Wave have ripped people off before, although I've never ordered from them myself.

I know it might be expensive but do they have a phone number?

New Wave have got a horrible reputation both for Mail Order and Customer Services. I know it's too late and doesn't help with what you do from here, but this apparently isn't anything out of the ordinary. Neutral
Good Luck!

if you payed via credit card, call your company and have the payment booked back. before them send one final mail to new wave with a final ultimatum.

I did this once and never heard of New Wave afterwards. I'd never do business with them again.

Luckily, living in the UK I'd probably never need to order from them, but from the stories I've heard, I don't think I ever would. Sad

Did you pay be credit card? If so, does your c/c company have some sort of consumer insurance (type thing)?

New Wave have a very bad reputation among the WFB/40k crowd. Nice site with lovely pics - but don't order from them.

TBH I'm surprised they survive. No one can be going back for repeat orders....

Defintely get them on the phone, don't bother with email.

I can't believe they are still in business either.

Thank you coaches. I paid with credit card, and, yes, I call them by phone lots of times (the telephone bill was expensive too). I'll try to talk with my credit card bank, and they must help me.

on the other hand, thanks again to phil bowen, the shadowforge boys, heresy and GW england and USA. they send me figures on time, and thanks to them, I keep my faith on the internet orders.

please coaches, pray to Nuffle with me, and perhaps we will have a GW store in Colombia!

I know it doesn't help. But before doing business with an online company in the USA, you really should try to look them up on the USA Better Business Bureau website: http://www.bbb.com

Looking up New Wave and you'll see that this is definitely NEVER a company to do business with.

Wow I have heard everyone complaints and been ripped off once long ago, but to see numbers like that from the BBB is shocking. How does that company stay in buisness? It's no wonder they sell figures at a discount they make that discount back by stealing from every other customer they have.

I belong to this yahoogroup: minidealerdiscussion

Its a place for folks who drop a lot of cash on miniatures to talk about dealers before and after doing business with them. So that bad word can travel quickly as well as good words between these folks with high volume accounts.

At one point, the introduction to the group had a disclaimer that "everyone knows you should never do business with New Wave. If you are getting ready to start a thread about how they burned you, everyone is just going to say, "you should have know better than to have tried it." This forum is not meant to be a New Wave bashing forum, so please keep complaints about New Wave to a minimum. Thank you minidealerdiscussion owner."

I think that give you some idea. So that's a good group to check before ordering online stuff.

The other great resource to use before ordering the Consumer Affairs board of http://www.theminiaturespage.com ... The direct link to this board is: http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/topics.mv?id=30
A quick search on New Wave yielded this:
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=13924
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=13365
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=10313
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=8158
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=6038
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=4198
http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=3128

Hopefully this extra info on these two other resources will help you keep from getting burned again in the future.

The problem with the BBB is they have no real power. As long as the company responds to the letter they get from the BBB nothing really happens. We had a VERY bad experience with a mortgage broker when we bought our home. All they did was respond saying no these are dumb kids that don't understand the process and there were no consequences for their scheme.

They just go bankrupt and then reform the business from time to time. They're still out there under some name I'm sure. 6 years later and I'd still love to drop the gloves with that sonuvab#$%^.

With quite a few complaintants, you can always try to get enough to petition a class action lawsuit. We organized somehting like this against a company who was selling insurance on credit card funding but not carrying through. We ended up only needing 30 some complaintants to get this files in the justice system and we got 50% of our cash back but more importantly the company had their licensing revoked as part of the settlement. Might be an option if you really are fed up with them.

It looks like New Wave finally went out of business. The website is gone and their phones are disconnected... Very Happy
