In the newest White Dwarf they advertise both Blood Bowl magazine 6 and the new Ogre team (awesome miniatures, btw)
I have a subscription to Blood Bowl magazine and still haven't gotten #6 yet AND I called the Mail Order Trolls and they have no idea when it's coming out.
Does anyone know EITHER
1. When issue #6 is going to ship
OR
2. The new team list/rules for the Ogre team. I'm sure it's different than the standard big guy rules. I know there is a thrower but are there other positions, and what skill and stats do they have?
Thanks

I'll answer this later in the week more fully.
JJ announced this morning to the MBBL test league and the BBRC that he changed his mind about the Ogre team rules. So as of today the team in BB Mag #6 is already not going to be the Ogre team.
HOWEVER, the team JJ emailed to me and the BBRC is currently undergoing BBRC discussion. As soon as they reach something like a concensus and agree as to what the new experimental rules are, I'll post a link.
Posting the team JJ emailed this morning would only be fuel for a fire for some folks, so I'd rather let the dust settle on the BBRC discussions before posting a revised roster.
That said: the rules as printed in BB Mag #6 can be found here:

Thanks for the link Galak. I'd like to see the big guy teams altered to make them playable without allies. I'd like to see an Ogre thrower or Minotaur blitzer. Just allowing them 8 goblins doesn't seem like the answer. Currently in our league we have 1 minotaur team. The coach has fun playing but they aren't entirely playable compared to some other "normal" teams. |

BB Mag 6 will be available in the US "near the end of the month".
But, can you trust the trollz?

If they decide to use the TBB team, or a version of it, do you think you guys will get credit for it |

yes, I'm sure a comment like "Thanks to all the hardwork from the online communities at TBB.com" or whatever wouldn't be hard for him to write - it will also attract some attention for the NAF and online BB communities in general
a good thing! |

Okay here's the official current word from Jervis handed down to me today:
The MBBL will test 2 Ogres rosters for him:
The first will be the TBB roster.
The second will be a revised roster.
The data from the two will be used to probably meet in the middle somewhere later to revise the team again.
The Revised Roster JJ wants tested to give him the 2nd set of data is:
0-11 Ogres (no Big Guy on them)
0-5 Goblins
70k rerolls
The team must double its TR when figuring out handicaps at the start of each game.
So I just started my first test game against a TR 113 Human team which meant my TR 100 (200) Ogres gave up 4 handicap rolls. So we'll see what happens.
Just wanted to update everyone.

Okay, I like what he's trying to do with the TR. Still, I have to ask - isn't there going to be a new handicap table in the near future? If so, testing a roster whose main gimmick is a handicap table that will soon be outdated does not seem to be a really productive enterprise.
Unless of course, you're using the semi-official table that I just saw. |

That would be the case. The team will play 2 games using the old table and the rest of the game will be using the new semi-official table that you referred to that I posted on TBB.

The table can be found at: http://www.talkbloodbowl.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5032
(digressing a bit) I believe that removing Virus from the handicap table is not a good thing. Virus is one of the big reasons to retire niggled players. Aging is a mechanic that's supposed to encourage player turnover. One of the reasons that the insane Elf team on FUMBBL wasn't considered plausible was because they didn't use handicaps, and were not subject to the Virus result.
If Virus is completely removed, how will we stiffen up the aging penalties to compensate? Giving +1 to injury for each niggle is the best idea I've heard. |

If the game moves to an EXP aging system which I think is coming. The Elf team in question would have HAD to retire players as the majority would be nursing 3 to 4 Niggles each instead of 1 or 2.
I believe the EXP aging rules are coming soon to a BB Mag or Annual near you as experimental rules.
EXP would mean that you wouldn't need to give more bite to the Niggles.

The EXP system is a big disadvantage to low AG teams. Right now, high AG players get SPP's quickly but generally have low AV and are easily injured. Low AG players have a high AV, and earn high SPP's by outlasting their faster, more agile counterparts. It's a pretty fundamental balance in the game that I don't think the EXP system addresses. |

Tom, you may want to check this with Jervis, but I believe he meant the TR doubling to count for the winnings table as well. |
