Ok I'll try this again. (I tried this earlier, but it would not post)
Two part Question here.
1) If you roll Bad Kick on the Kick Off Table. But the player kicking had the Kick Skill. Do you divide only the first D6 in half then add the 2nd D6? (For a possible 1-9) Or do you divide both D6 in half? (For a possible 1 -6)
2) Can you wait to see how far the ball would travle on the Kick Off before using the Kick Skill? For example: You place the ball it scatters 5 squares straight to opponents endzone (landing one square away from endzone, a pretty darn good kick without the kick skill), can you then decide not to use kick? Or if the ball scatters off the field or to your half of the field, could you then use the Kick Skill to prevent that from happening? So bassically is Kick like every other skill where you decide after the die result if you want to use it?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Bad Kick and the kick-off sequence have always been at odds. These answers should help.
1. Roll 2D6 and divide the number in half, rounding down. The numbers in the skill description are there for illustration; they don't account for variances in game play (unlikely the unsightly line in the HMP description).
2. Absolutely, just like any other skill. Think of it as a representing a player's ability to get the ball just where he wants to get it.

Hail Mary Pass includes a line about not using the skill in a blizzard. That irks me every time I read it.

Just to clarify - you are allowed to use a skill after you roll? I thought a skill had to be declared before you roll. |

Yes, you decide after the roll. |
