Ok, situation is thus:
Human catcher gets third level, he already has: 9 move and block. He rolled doubles. Should I take: jump up, sidestep, leader, Nerves of Steel, or Dauntless?
Jump up for ultimo scoring threat, Dauntless for Ogre killer, leader for utility. Any thoughts?
Edit: specified Human |

I agree, sidestep will be most useful for this Catcher. A Catcher without block would probably get more use out of Jump Up.
Leave leader for a lineman, and dauntless for a blitzer. |

That makes sense, since he's only going down 1 in six times. And then when he goes down, it's probably going to get through his armour... |

Always give strength 2 players Dauntless when you get doubles. Basically it gives you an extra blitzer - and makes it easy to blitz the hole in the line with him (guard assists from your blitzers). Next skill give him strip ball. Buy other catchers to play on offence and use this guy on defence.
If you really don't want Dauntless I'd take Nerves of Steel - don't take Sidestep its a waste of a double. |

I agree with double skulls, a MA 9 player with good dodging skills + blodge + dauntless and maybe even strip ball is a real pain for your opponent: his ball carrier has to be in a cage to be safe from this guy. This means if you kick it deep he has to set up his cage deep (or risk getting hit by your catcher) which gives you more time to stopp his advance/break his cage. Giving him dauntless will make him an a very valuable player on both offense and defence while giving him sidestep he'll probably not be very usefull for defence, only offence. |

Hmmm...I also just picked up an ogre, so having a dauntless guy as well will really allow me to hit, and, he'll still be able to score like he always has. |

Thanks for the good info, mokent...In preparation for our next game I'll start devising tactics to get rid of that catcher. |

Don't waste the double, take dauntless. Get side step on your next upgrade. |
