Okay the goods:
Game Con
Century Center - 120 S. St. Joseph Street, South Bend, Indiana 46601
Date: May 29th, 2004 (Saturday of the 3 day Memorial Day weekend)
A one day tournament. Cost is $13 to prereg for the Con or $15 at the door; plus $5 for the Blood Bowl tournament.
Website to register: http://www.gameconsouthbend.com
Rules are the same as GenCon 2004 - http://www.talkbloodbowl.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=186564
Prizes: 1st place gets a trophy.
Blood Bowl miniatures for 1st through 3rd, Most CAS, Best Sportsman, and Best Painted Team
4 games and here is the schedule which we will stick to very tightly.
8 am to 8:30 am -- Door open to get your Con badge
8:30 am to 9:30 am -- Register your roster and team for the tournament
9:30 am to 10 am - Game 1 prep time for me, hopefully we will start at like 9:45 to start the tournament ahead of schedule
10 am to Noon -- Game 1 (time will be called at 2 hours sharp on each round)
Noon to 1 -- Lunch Break
1 pm to 3 pm -- Game 2
3 pm to 3:30 pm -- Break
3:30 pm to 5:30 pm -- Game 3
5:30 pm to 6:30 pm -- Supper Break
6:30 pm to 8:30 pm -- Game 4
8:30 pm to 9:00 pm -- Break
9:00 pm -- Awards
It will be a long day ... but I think its doable if I'm a tyrant on the 2 hour time limit and game start times.
Note: this is a Rogue Trader tournament which means all miniatures in your team must be GW/Citadel miniatures from some range.
Please let me know if you are coming and your friends. The more people I know are coming the better prizes I'll get for the 6 awards we are giving out. I'm organizing this tournament as a thank you to the person who got me started playing Blood Bowl as he is one of the lead organziers of this Con.
If a lot of folks say they'll come but only if its a 3 game event let me know. I'm open to having a 3 game only tournament if it means getting more folks to come, but I'm guessing since most of you will have Monday off after the tournament you wouldn't mind a full day of beatdown.

Are you still running the GenCon tourney (or is that still going on)? Just curious. |

He's a giant, he will be running both and still have room on his plate.
Are you coming down for one of them Torg? If so guess I'll see you there, I will be at both. |

The GenCon Bowl is my baby .... that will always run until GenCon leaves Indy or I die. The Memorial Mayhem is me doing a favor for a very good old friend who wants to a have a brand new Con have a couple good anchor events.

I'm tempted to drive up for this con..just to practice for gencon ...but the 18 hour drive might be too much...but then again, I have vacation time I could use.... |

I'll admit ... I hadn't thought of that fact ... its does make for a nice one day practice ground for GenCon ... hmmmm.
Guess you could find out if something does or does not work or see a particularly effective strategy in the winner's team.

One slightly banged up Goblin coach from the great White North has some free time that weekend and is looking to pad up the casualty rates of the other teams. (Just ask the Dwarves )
Are there any other Canadians heading down? Will pay for gooning |

Well, the 18 hour drive isn't keeping me from attending...it's the moving 500 miles that weekend that'll keep me away. |

Just a reminder that the tournament is THIS Saturday.
We have a LOT of great prizes lined up for the winners and I decided to make this tournament special ... so everyone attending will get a Blood-Bowl.net Limited Edition miniature as a door prize.
Hope to see you guys there. The organizer of the Con wants at least 10 players ... I'm hoping we get at LEAST 16 to 20.
So get off your duffs and drive over and throw down.

Unfortuantly I won't be there.
My Dad decided to get remarried that day.
I would much rather be playing BloodBowl but you know how those things go we don't always get to do what we want. |

OH NO!!! ... Does this mean the rest of the guys from your league are not coming EITHER!!!
Please tell me they are. I'd really hate to think I had him get the prizes I had him get for nothing.

3 of them said they were still going up but the other two decided not to. So there should still be 3 of us. |

So how was the turnout? I was really annoyed to be 15 minutes away from it and not to be able to go. I had to be in a friend's wedding on Saturday.
I hope it will return next year. I don't expect any more weddings by then.
