Thanks to everyone who came out to the Spike! It turned out to be the biggest event in Canada at 38 people. I hope everyone had a good time and that we have converted a few more people in to tourney regulars
The Spike results will be on the GW site as soon as I get the spread sheet from Ian.
The 2004 Spike! Champion is none other than our local hero Ben Tusim (username Ben). Ben beat league mate and fellow Canadian Kolja Eppert after they both squeaked into the top two spots by the skin of their teeth.
The Battle Bunker League Cup went to Jon Bowers (Grumbledook) whose consistent play earned him the most points after the Spike winner.
I'll post the other awards online with the final standings. One note: we made a bit of a mistake with the fewest TDs allowed award. Glenn Jones earned his award but there were a few people that also had the same score! My apologies for the oversight, if you PM me your mailing address I'll send you a spiffy certificate for your achievement.
Thanks again to everyone and hopefully we'll see you next year.

Really great tourney. I had tons of fun and enjoyed playing all the non-TBBFers.
I also liked how the first 5 games decided who would play in the final championship match and, in addition, there was the Bunker Championship for the 36 other players. There was huge competition during the 5th game to try to get into the championship match, almost like a semifinal.
Great time.

It was a very great tourney indeed! Love seeing old friends & making new ones!
So not to sound too impatient, but when are the NAF Rankings being updated? |

Yeah, right - you sound like a virgin on prom night just dying to drop her party dress...
The Tournament Organizers are normally asked to enter their results within two weeks... I won't speak for Anthony but I'm pretty confident the Spike results will be entered sooner...
Delays happen for the most part when the TO doesn't get all of the needed info, or has incorrect information, when the NAF signons are entered. The results listing, while tedious, is pretty straightforward - it's the confirmation that every coach is entered and all their information is correct, and corrections when they are needed, that cause the usual delays to the ranking updates.
Plus the continual growth in the number of tournaments has sometimes overburdened the national TOs - the staff is examining some changes to the overall structure to make such tasks easier across the board...
Oh, and congratulations on your super Sunday results - there's been many a time I wish I'd had that kind of second day!!! Well done, Rod! |

Yes, give it time Clan Skaven, I'll try to have them entered by the end of the week. I believe there is just some issues with a few Naf memberships we have to resolve.
BTW, great to hear all you boys made it home safe. It was a great tourny and i had a lot of fun playing all the out of towners, with the exception of the game against Trog. He just murdered my poor little Ratz.
Hope to see most of you at the Deathbowl.

You're telling me! Ever since that first win he's been willing and has banged all comers!
And it looks like any team that sat next to Da Maggot Scum won their matches, showing that a high fan-factor can overflow... Explains why they were missing in some of my games, though they sure showed up for the battles against Orc and Dwarves! |

It shouldn't be necessary for tourney results to be entered consecutively - the rankings will recalc from the earlier dates and adjust to the new entries. ( I believe that's correct, if I've learned anything from eavesdropping on conversations between others... ) |

Ok, thanks Jim! Yeah I had a great comeback on Sunday (if there was a comeback award I'm sure I was in the running for it! )
I finnished 16th out of 38 can't complain when you finnish, right in between "the best Goblin Coach in the world" (Da Scum) & "ex NAF Prez."(Neo) I'd say I was in good company there!
Funny note had there been a round 7 it would have been me vs. Da Scum!
So sorry Jim if I'm sounding impatient, but this is the first tourney where my ranking will actually go up (& not down!!!) So I am kind of excited! |

Ok, Ben no worries... I'll cool my jets untill later this week (just excited about seeing my average go up!)
You can count on me going to the Death-Bowl! (Gotta see if I can extend my 3 game tourney unbeaten streak! ) |

Well yes Scum your right! Maybe drawing a game right next to you was good luck, but maybe drawing a buddy from the NFBBL helped as well. (my Skaven have won more than lost vs. his Orcs in the past!)
One more round & it was you & me Mr. Da Scum! (maybe we will meet at the Death-Bowl!) |

It's really OK... I understand your excitement!
But now it's an "unbeaten streak", eh...?
(not a string of losses puntuated with errors...? ) |
