This really puzzled me this year - last year they gave a £40 LOTR starter set for the wooden spoon alone! This year, it's a certificate for everything! I'm not sure that Mordredd even received a small BB trophy to commemorate it like Tarra did last year.... (although I may be wrong)
I did get a little trophy. It was a gold effect plastic cup with the bowl half filled with resin painted red mounted on a marble base, along with 3 block dice and an engraved plaque. Tasteful.
The lack of prizes is a little puzzling. The last few regional conflict tournaments had better prizes than any of the GT tournaments I've been to as well, so its not just independant tourneys that get better support. Go figure.
Having said that I personally would not rate a tourney good or bad based on the prizes in any way. I feel winning the games (or just having fun playing them) is prize enough, and it's the weekend of competitive BB I'm after not a new mini. |

There was a total of zero prize at the Spike!, if you don't count the paper certificates for different awards and the coins for everyone. |

Don't get me wrong prizes are cool, but I don't really care for em.
Its the game itself, & the other coaches, meeting friends (new & old).
Its the ever soooo important BEER fests afterwards,
And the unicin of Nuffle Bashing that goes along with the BEER fests
Those are the parts of the BB Tourneys I like!
but thats just me |

GW doesn't give out product as prizes for events in Canada. Personally I think the trophies etc. people are doing are way better. I'd rather have that on my shelf than yet another BB team (not that I win any tournaments ) |

The ones I have been to only give out certificates too, mainly, although the odd one I've been to gives out Forge World stuff. |

I'd go with the customized trophies or as I had to do this year pressed for time, just normal trophies.

Yes, I think trophies of some kind are the way to go. It gives you something to take home that is unique and something you can be proud of to display (I couldn't see myself framing a certificate for winning somethng at a tourney). The small tourney I went to in Calgary this summer gave out individual trophies for 2nd place, most TDs, most CAS, etc and even a small version of the actual cup for the first place player to take home. |

The Death Bowl gave away awsome trophies for all kinds of things, including champion, 2nd place, 3rd place, most touchdowns (6 inch long football on the trophy), most casualties (4 inch high skull on the trophy), best painted (a painter's color palette), best sportsman (a beer mug on the trophy), and wooden spoon (an actual giant wooden spoon about 3 feet long). Check out the pictures to come out soon!
Of course, there were all kinds of prizes as well! |

I'd much rather have trophies to prizes, and display the one I have won with pride.
I'd really like to get to the BloodBowl atleast once, but I think '06 would be as soon as I could get there. I'm not willing to sacrfice 4 tournaments on this side of the pond for one trip over there. Which is about what it would come out to with time off and travel expenses. |

So let me get this stright.... The BloodBowl - The Biggest tourney for BB , or should be, gave out naff prizes?
Is this the same BloodBowl that I'm going to try to get to and win next year? To bring home the great BB Trophy with my name engraved on the base to prove I'm the best...You mean you don't get it?
Damn it - not worth going if thats the case!
BTW, Hi guys - Been a long time - How's you all? |

Not bad, how's married life?
BTW when you try to win the blood bowl next year, buy a lottery ticket. That way you have two chances at the 1 in 13 million prize |
