I am wondering if anybody out there has built their own BB stadium? I know I have seen some pics before, but if anybody can offer any advice, or at least hook me up with a link that could, that would be mucho appreciated!
Any pics of scratch built stadiums, are greatly appreciated! |

Over the past few weeks of researching, I have managed to find quite a few pics of scratch-built stadiums, including some rather radical ones! I am currently putting together a group site and will include a photo album of these pics, plus allow others to add their own.
If you can't wait PM me, but the pics will be up soon.

Just make sure you try and get permission from the person who took the photos or the website that's currently hosting them.
Probably goes without saying, but in this day and age, you can never be too careful. |

The boat was built by Joan Fiander, a member of the group I belong to "Hammers of the North".
I can ask him if he can give a play by play on the building of it. I know that there wasa lot of painstaking work involved - laying each of the coffee stir sticks and then drilling each hole by hand to put the pins in to mark the squares!

I didn't think of trying to use standard square bases as the basis of a pitch actually and then just glue flock over the top - cool idea! |

are those in scale? I don't suppose so as each BB case is roughly 29mm... |

Realistically, since it is a custom board you could perhaps get away with stating ahead of time that passing may be slightly different than normal and attribute it to some warp-related phenomena (or something equally fluffy). Or, since you made you own pitch, make your own custom passing template...
Not to mention, 390(?) squares is actually pricier than you might think...thanks GW! |

BTW, to get 390 40mm bases, you'd buy 25 packs of 16 at $5 per for a total of $125.
Man, I wish Hirst would just make a mold for a 29mm tile, would make life much easier. |

Well when life serves you lemons you make lemonade.
So instead of trying to make Hirst fit your needs, you should fit theirs. Make the baord with their tiles, and then adjust the range ruler accordingly. It is only one thing to be adjusted, and easy enough to do.
