Thanks Ken and Chirs for a great tourney! The double OT was a crazy finish to a fine weekend. I really enjoyed myself.
My highlights:
I scored a fair number of TDs despite playing two games entirely in the rain.
I beat Nick s dwarfs 3-0 despite having a single mini left on the pitch at the end of the game (8 Cas againts for those scoring at home).
Losing a 3-1 lead to John s wood elves was much easier to take when I killed that wardancer on turn 8! If I had done that a few turns earlier it would have been an easy W.
Sotek demanded a turn of greatness: my turn 8 of the first half against undead. There s a ghoul a couple spaces from scoring and I have no one nearby to stop an easy turn 8 score. So one skink makes 3 dodges for a die down block... Pow- Pow. Ghoul goes down and is stunned. My Sure Hands skink gets up off the ground, makes four dodges through countless tackle zones, two go for its and then picks the ball up in the rain in a TZ! Yes. And he wasn t done there. He was stuck in a wight s TZ so, he then withstood two 2 die blocks from the wight (re-rolled) and a two die ghoul blitz to maintain control of the ball as the halftime buzzer sounded!
Madness!! Madness I tell. That skink is now my hero.
And I do feel bad about winning Best Painted two tourneys in a row with the same team... my pro elves will be done in time for Beantown! |

I'd like to add my thanks to Bampf's, Ken and Chris.
Had a great time down there. A lot of great coaches and a whole lot of fun.
My only real highlight was coming back from a 0-2 deficit at half-time to beat Steve's High Elves (with my woodies) 3-2.
I was surprised to win the Best Sportsman. I had several rough games but tried my best to have fun in spite of them. Apparently I did a good job.
Thanks again everyone. |
