I can't help it, I love the big 'uns...
Does anyone have any suggestions for a TR100 team to start off in the NAF tournament circuits?
I'm playing in a league of twelve, currently, and my team is leading the league in casualties... and TR. *chuckles* I want to try my hand at it in NAF play...
Thanks!

True true...
Just wondered if anyone had tried one of these teams in official play?
And what worked for them. |

I've played the 6 ogre roster, though I think the other one is probably smarter give you another reroll to work with. I just perfer to have more then half my team as ogres it is an "Ogre" team after all. |

Are there any tactics that work better for these guys (except for the obvious let the gobbos do the ball handling). what about skill development in tourney and league?

Actually I gave an ogre surehands after the first round and made him my ball carrier. I use my goblins for tackle zones, filling the holes of the boneheaded ogres. Diving tackle is nice on the goblins as well. |

but no more surehands on ogres for lrb 4, so now you are stuck with the gobo holding the ball. |

Unless you get an AG+1 Ogre...that is pretty sweet!

P.S. I know FUMBBL doesn't really count in terms of league play, But I have an Ogre team there that has 3 Ogres with AG3....And another with AG4! |

It was that way in the tournament, I gave it to him on a doubles selection. |

So what would be regular choices then - would you start giving the diving tackle to the gobbos, or would you opt for some of the strength skills for the ogres? |

it depends, if there are a lot of agility teams go diving tackle i assume, you have to know what you are going to face. note that is an assumtion. |

I would go with Guard and Break Tackle for the Ogres. try to ensure as many 3D Blocks as possible and let the Gobbos fend for themselves.
Maybe Pro or Pass for a Doubles Skill. Block is nice, but Pro or Pass will help the offense more. Want to be nasty? Pick Dirty Player for the Gobbo on the doubles. Or if possible to double-up on an Ogre...Stand Firm on one of the Guarders.
Just a few random thoughts... Rob |

But wouldn't you think that gurad is a bit of overkill? I mean you have 5 or 6 players with S5 on the team, the rest are S2 and probably not worth guarding! I think the break tackle is a good idea, as it gives them more options for hitting.
For the ogres, I would also think that pass is a waste - I mean with Ag 2 I am not going to be letting go of that ball if I get my mitts on it!
Pro is always a safe choice.

Guard is useful. Lots of teams have S4 players and there are BGs elsewhere. Guard makes it harder for them to gang up for the 1 or 2 dice blocks and makes it easier to engineer the 3 dicers for yourself. Looking at the other options it isn't the worst choice by any means. A couple of break tackle are necessary though.
Otherwise you are looking at Diving Tackle, Sidestep or maybe Sure Feet/Sprint on gobbos so maybe Guard sneaks in as the least bad choice for a regular skill? |
