Just remember with any system proposed it has to work easily for 50+ players who tend to make a lot of screw-ups.

If I had the option of not having a "least sporting player" decision, I probably would have just given my last opponent at 2 and offered him some advice.
But because I had to "find a problem", my last opponent got ranked last. And to be honest, he was far from being the "least sporting player" I've ever played. It was more of a testament on how sporting my other 4 opponents were.
I'm probably not expressing myself very well at the moment. |

I'm just happy you didn't put me down as your least sporting player.

Thanks Galak for putting on such an excellent event! |

Okay ... I'm not against trying this system next year.
You have to pick your favorite opponent out of the 5.. .that coach gets a 3. You may only give one coach a 3.
If you have a poor sportsman coach you can give them a 1.
All other coaches receive 2s.
Programming it will be the pain.

But hopefully a pain that is worth it, in that it will make the scores truly representative rather than, as some one accurately put it above, having to "look for reasons to rank someone as a 5."
I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to tell you how to run your tournament, though, because that is thoroughly not the case.
And to my Khemri opponent (I believe Marcus told me your name was Val? I'm horrible with names) yes, that was far and away the most fun game I had all tourney (though strangely, the game where my opponent nearly ran me out of players on the pitch was also a lot of fun, go figure.) And the Khemri vase you gave me was one of the coolest things that's happened in the time I've been gaming. I'll be working that into some sort of display for one of my teams (unfortunately, I realized during the tourney there's a reason Nurgle teams are rare) some time in the future. |

I think this sounds the best.----would have worked perfectly for me
the good sportsmen would still get points they deserve while no one else is really punished except the jackasses. |

The question I have now is, what kind of tournament points would we give for this?
With the amount of points for games, giving 5 to 15 points for sportsmanship wont make much of a difference in the final standings.
What do you guys think? |

That's where the programming comes in.
A 3 would be equal to 11 points for the tournament. A 2 would be 6 points, and a 3 would be 1 point. Any drops would be automatic 2s worth 6 points. (this assumes a 5 game tournament which I'm still planning on doing).
That's the tricky part of the programming. But I think I can pull it off ... its one of the things I have to do for my job anyway ... complex spreadsheet creation.

Only 6 non-NAF members for GenCon. Just shy of the 48 NAF members from 2003. 47 NAF members playing this year. Very cool. Definitely a positive sign that BB is not cooling off.

Tom,
Bob Fuller is from Blue Island, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and his NAF name is zarhan. I'm hoping to make Chaos Cup, but I work midnights, and will need to get it approved for a vacation night on Sunday. |

Can't wait to see it. I've really liked your teams the last two years. Especially the Lakers. I think the laker girls would have helped you out. |

I made a dent. ![Mr. Green](modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_mrgreen.gif) I'm set for about a month. ![Wink](modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) Carrying that thing was a b*tch though.
Guys, I had so much fun this year. I love the Philly gang, makes me feel tough to hang out with a bunch of guys that have the "how yoo doin'" accent. ![Laughing](modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) Of course, I probably sound like cuzin' jed to them.
OMM was a blast, as always. Meeting JJ was cool.
Ben was a blast to chill with. Same with gken, minus my role as the tackling dummy.
Hard to believe it was a week ago I headed out. Time flies.
Other tournies are on the schedule, just have to fit in time.

It sounded great, I hope to go next year. (Last year was a blast)
