OK Guys, some of may like and some of you won't but secret weapons will be allowed to all races as per the chart below:

GW OFFICIAL BLOOD BOWL SECRET WEAPONS

Weapon Cost Penalty Roll Teams used by
Ball & Chain 20,000 8+ Goblin

Blunderbuss 30,000 10+ Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Human, Skaven (Jezzail)

Chainsaw 60,000 8+ Amazon, Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Goblin, Human, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Undead

Death Roller 90,000 7+ Dwarf (Longbeards only)

Explosive Bomb 40,000 8+ Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Goblin

Pogo Stick 20,000 10+ Goblin

Poisoned Dagger 30,000 10+ Amazon, Chaos, Dark Elf, Human, Lizardmen, Skaven

I think if any coach is willing to pay the expense on a secret weapon and take the chance on having being kicked out of the game then why not.

Even with secret weapons being allowed i don't see many coaches taken them other then goblin coaches.

I hope by allowing secret weapons it creates more variety to the teams and allows coaches more flexibilty to create their perfect team they believe will winn the 2006 Canadian Open!!

I will post the chart along with the rules on secret weapons to the website within the next couple of days.

I look forward to seeing all the creative rosters on March 4th.

Ben-
Two questions...

1. Aside from budgetary limitations, is there any limit to the amount or type of secret weapons that a team can have? For example...can a Dwarf Team have multiple Death Rollers?

2. If the Ref throws a secret weapon player out of the game, is he gone for that specific game, or for the rest of the tourney?

3a. Will the player with the secret weapon have the stat profile of the Star Player with that Secret Weapon, or the profile of the player carrying it?

3b. If it has the profile of a roster player, is it only on linmen of a specific team, or could it be a positional?

-Rob

1. no limit

2. just for the game

3a. profile of the player carrying it.

3b. only linemen. NO positional players

Not even the Goblins SWs?
-Rob

EDIT: How about the other questions a couple of posts above? I am also wondering if the players with SWs are not the stars...are they precluded from having other skills because they have a secret weapon?

Let me point out that if you allow these guys to upgrade, then the obvious choice would be to buy them an AG upgrade to throw bombs or start chainsaws better!

And nothing for the necros or vampires? I think these rules were out before those teams became official...

Somehow, a zombie chainsaw sounds fun! Useless but fun...

Skeletons can have a chainsaw, I don't see why a zombie can't.

I doubt it. I mean, an American might win this once, its like when the USSR won the Canada Cup, they didn't give Team Canada an award for the highest finishing Canadian team in the tournament. They don't give out an award at the US Open for the top finishing American.

Besides, I'm going to win this year, so we don't have to worry about an American winning.
