Hi,
I'm thinking of running a Human team in the Blood Bowl Grand Tournament. I'm applying real life tactics to the game though.
e.g.
If I'm Receiving (Offence) then I will run.
1 Thrower
3 Blitzers
2 Catchers
5 Linemen
Offence set up
Code: L L L L L
CB C
T
B B
If I'm Kicking (Defence) I run.
3 Blitzers
4 Catchers
4 Linemen
Defence set up
Code: C L L L L C
B B B
C C
Thus my team list is:
1 Thrower
5 Linemen
4 Catchers
3 Blitzers
2 Re-rolls
FF 3
The Offence is set up so I can run or pass in any match.
The Defence has more catchers than on the Offence to harrass the ball Carrier.
I've only tried this once against Dwarfs and won 4-0. This is mainly because I used the Catchers in unison to blitz the Ball carrier before a cage was formed.
Anyone else tried using real life tactics in Bloodbowl? |

Nice idea for a theme, but I think over a long stretch it would prove risky. Experienced coaches would exploit the four catchers you have on defense, aiming to injure them as soon as possible. If an opposing team works the ball deep into your half (and nearly all other teams are better at this than dwarves due to their speed) then even if you turn the ball over you have to run it back upfield since you have no thrower in the game. This puts your catchers in even more danger, as they must now either run with the ball, or block for someone else who carries it.
I'd say play a few more times with it and let us know how it works. I may very well be wrong in my analysis (won't be the first time!) |

i think real life american football tactics can be an excellent inspiration, but when the ball carrier is tackled in bloodbowl, you cant set up and try again...
would be very interestes in how this works out, as the offensive tactics seem solid |
