see Galak's website http://www.blood-bowl.net. He's the TO and runs a great tourney. If you come, think about hitting Xtreme's pre-gencon tourney warmup, the streetparty. |

I hope in year 2006 there is also a BB tournament at the GENCON, because i have my badge and booked my flight! And the tournament was always a big highlight at the 4 days of gaming! |

There will be a Bloodbowl tournament run by Galak on Friday and Saturday. I will also be running a Streetbowl tournament on Thursday. |

FYI - Tom (aka Galak) runs a great tourney. He's typically organized, on time, and fair. |

i'm also seriously considering going to my First Gencon, primarily for Blood Bowl. Anyone want to split a room?? I really want to book a nearby hotel very soon before it starts selling out. Any suggestions from the Indy locals? Prefer close to cheap. |

You'll be out of there between 1 & 2 Saturday afternoon. The tournament runs all day Friday & a halfish day on Saturday. |

Ok thanks. It's no issue now, for some reason I thought it was a Sat/Sun thing. |

GenCon's Event registration is seriously F'd this year.
My event is STILL not accepted as an official event ... even though number of years the event has run and vendor sponsership is supposed to give you top rights to being accepted.
I've send 3 different emails to ask why the GenCon Bowl is not yet accepted as an event and whereas ALL my emails the last 3 years were returned within 48 hours with Jonni running Events ... now I've heard NOTHING from any of the 3.
I'm trying to get to the bottom of this guys ... but yes ... I am planning on running the normal Friday/Saturday tournament just like last year ... 5 rounds swiss.

I've been following a lot of what's going on at the Gen Con site and I can't blame them for any glitches that are going on. They've got just over 5000 events this year and over 4000 of those were submitted in the last two days before event submissions were closed They've had just over 2 weeks to sort, edit, classify and schedule more than 5000 individual events. I'd give them a little slack.
Sponsored by Black Library I guess if they don't know anything about GW that might work. As far as I've heard though, Gen Con is not that fond of GW since they've pretty much flipped them the bird for the last two years. Last year Jervis flat out told the Gen Con rep that was floating around the tournament that GW events should be given free space and free admission to the dealer hall. He was quite serious to since "they are GW ". The look on the guy's face was priceless. A mixture of wanting to tell JJ off for being a pompous fool and bitting his own tongue because he knew JJ was a special VIP guest. Though he probably only knew that because of the "VIP" badge JJ was wearing.
The Gen Con bowl is in the catalogue though at it's usual time slot and the Street Party is there on Thursday so I'm not sure why you have the idea it's not been accepted. |

Thats news to me, I have had the same trouble with the Street Party that Tom was talking about.
Guess I can worry a bit less about it now. |

And I do cut them some slack Brian ... but I submitted my event 2 months ago ... not 2 days before closing and Bryan submitted the Street Bowl I think 3 months ago.
As for being sponsered. Helps a lot to get our tables. Black Library has a vendor booth at GenCon ... GW does not. GenCon could give a rat's butt about what GW thinks since they are not paying for Vendor space ... but Black Library sponsering the tournament because of the 3 Blood Bowl novels ... that works just fine for us.
Okay now that we are official ... let me get the website finalized and all the rules posted (not a big deal really as they will be the same as last year) ... just need to change the dates.
