Rod you big lush!
If you want to do this, then why don't we do the rats. I have a skaven team already converted, but would need to put some base coats on them - no bigee.
LMK if you want to do this for sure, and then we can work out the team selection.
Hope the hangover is not too bad!

Sorry to drag this back to where the topics just moved from (for 10 pages!), but I do understand where Baccus is coming from.
When GW posted the rules for the BB this weekend, there was some confusion on the price of Star Players. Somehow, I ended up volunteering to find out the exact word to post on the SG forum (and TBB) [I'm sure my Dad taught me never to volunteer for anything!]
I ended up talking to 4 or 5 different people on the UK events team before I could get an "official, final" answer, and even then, I expect that someone will get it wrong on their roster, and it won't be picked up on the pre-tourney roster checking.
I don't know if it's the same in Canada as it is here in the UK, but here. it's not the BB "people" that run the tournament, but the Events team, which may or may not have much experience in BB tournaments. |

Darkson,
It is not GW running the event, it is a local group. However, GW keeps interfering which is what is creating the confusion. |

Don't know.
I have nothing to do with this tournament. It is the MOBB who is organizing it.
Where else do you feel it should be posted? |

If I am not mistaken MOBB stand for "Mississauga/Oakville Blood Bowl". they are a group that runs a league in the Oakville Battle Bunker.
They should have had something posted on the tourney link, and thereby got it NAF approved, but they didn't, and that is what is creating the problems with them getting it approved now. Step #1 of running a BB tournament should be registering it with NAF. Having a NAF approved tournament greatly increases your advertising and will almost certainly increase your attendance.
I don't know why they didn't post it here. But I imagine that it is not a mistake that they will make twice.

Hmmm... just picked up on this.
The procedure for sanctioning is up in Sections--> Tournaments.
Or http://bloodbowl.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=24&page=1
It should have been entered as soon as the dates were set, that way it shows up as a 'new tournament'.
Regardless, what's done is done.
Baccus, get it entered asap and either myself or Sputnik will officially sanction it. And it will be a Major.
One more thing. This thread has been a little too feisty in places for my liking. Please keep it civil.
I wish you all a great weekend and hope it's a success in spite of all the confusion. Enjoy yourselves guys. |

one more question
isn't it gw suppling the prizes and trophies?
wouldn't that give them the final say? |

Sorry, but is it just the name of the tournament that is giving it a major status? No offense to anyone, but there is an awful lot about this tournament that makes it seem a bit jury-rigged, and slapped together. This being more because of GW's involvement than anything else.
What is it that constitutes a tournament getting this status? Because personally, I do not have a problem seeing this tournament approved, but making it a major? That I don't agree with. There's just been too many problems. |

GW doesn't supply prizes for their tournaments. You'll probably get a nice certificate if you manage to win somthing though.
They do have the Spike Trophy that they let you get your photo taken with if you win though. |

Yea I gotta agree with Spazz. No offense to the MOBB guys who are running it, but with all the problems with the scheduling (which isn't their fault) and people coming for only one day I don't think this should be a major. Let the Deathbowl be a major again for 2006 and then we'll see what the status is for the Spike next year. |

Yeah, I forgot about that part - that really makes things awkward..... |
