I'd prefer 6 games myself, but either format will work for me.
Ditto.

I was thinking of this format for the next Canadian Open.
Well it definitely has to be a consideration for the Canadian tournaments with the people that we have travelling great distances in order to attend our fine tourneys!
So what would that look like...
Day 1
9:00-10:00 Registration
10:00-12:00 - Game 1
12:00-1:00 - Lunch
1:00-3:00 - Game 2
3:00-3:30 - Break
3:30 - 5:30 - Game 3
5:30 - 6:30 - Supper
6:30 - 8:30 - Game 4
8:30 - 9:00 - Break
9:00-11:00 - Stunty Free For All
11:00-1:00 - Get hammered!
Day 2
9:00 - 9:30 - Get Organized
9:30 - 11:30 - Game 5
11:30 - 12:30 - Lunch
12:30 - 2:30 - Game 6
2:30 - 3:00 - Break
3:00 - 4:00 - Closing ceremonies
This will still get the Montreal boys home at about midnight. Not the ideal, but I think it is the best that can be expected.
the alternative is the five game schedule which means that we would be done at the same time, only that we would be getting on to the Stunty Free For All a couple of hours sooner.
Does someone see another way this can be done? |

This is tight with the stunty cup.
I don't like break for dinner. I would rather play right through and go out afterwards for dinner and drink the night away. IMHO |

Aw cripes, wasn't it on July 15th and 16th?
I already planned my summer around that date. I probably can't come on the 22nd,23rd but I'll see if I can't move stuff around.
I was really looking forward to using a chaos team....

It was on the 15th and 16th, but when I went to book the room, they told me those dates were already taken, so I had to move it back a week. Sorry for the confusion, but it does give a lot of advance warning, so hopefully you can still make it. |

Really glad to hear that you are going to be coming out for this one. Ben could use some serious competition when defending his title!
I am gearing up to make this bigger and better than last year's and am even getting ideas for Q'ermitt tourneys in the future! The new boards are being built and I have a wicked idea for the orc stadium's Jumb-O - Tron! Should be awesome! |

Okay, the room is completely booked now. Went today to sign for the credit card, etc. So there is no chance now that they can pull a "GW" on me and try to change my dates.
While I was there, one fo the staff was asking whether I would like to reserve a block of rooms for the tourney attendees. How about it? How many people are coming that would like to stay in the hotel? I know that even some of the TBBF boys like to get a room to save the driving back and forth.
I was thinking about holding a block of five rooms, or do you think more would be needed? I think they will hold up to ten for me, but then will let them go close to the date if nobody firms up.
Just get back to me if you are planning on making use of the hotel.

10 Rooms might be a good idea. The TBBF will be there for sure. And its easier to drink out there, get a room there and then stumble down Sunday morning for round 4 than it is to go back to the city. |
