First proper Forum post so I thought I'd show off some bad scans of my weird and wonderful conversions...
First off a Puggy Baconbreath oversculpt, I took a Puggy and GS'ed over the top of him. Backstory to this one... A friend plays a halfling team in our league and in a game before the league he had a halfling kill a troll player. Ever since then George The Troll Slayer has progressed really well gaining skills and generally being a Halfling superstar player. However after taking out that troll he's decided that he must be a troll himself and has taken to wearing a troll costume and wanting to be called George "The Troll" Slayer. Unfortunately the troll costume is a bit lame, like a really bad theme park mascot costume and you can clearly see Georges face in the trolls mouth. Also, being a halfling the troll looks very much like a certain cookie loving blue furry creature normally found hanging out on Sesame Street!!!
Other conversions that I've done have been for my Orc team, couple of Gobbo's to be used as projectiles by my Troll. So I thought, flying Gobbo's gotta have a Batman gobbo, quick chopping bits off of one mini and a copious dollop of GS later and I've got Bruise Payne, the Batgobbo. Sculpted to resemble Christian Bale's Batman but painted to look more like Adam Wests.
And finally after doing a Batman gobbo I decided that the other gobbo on my team might be used on tight formations as a gobbo suicide bomber/cannon hurled from a Troll.
Thinking about that I recalled the great Fastball Special that Wolverine used to do with Colossus hurling him and so naturally went with a Wolverine conversion who I call Lodahn
.
Again, chopping bits off of the mini and resculpting up with GS to form the wings on the head and boots, adding a belt with an X buckle and drilling and pinning the fists for the claws.
Had a lot of fun working on this one and was really happy with the way he turned out as it was a late night sculpt and then painting it the next morning ready to use in the afternoon game!!

Hmmm, thinking of trying for a Venom and/or Doctor Gobtopus next. (After I've finished my Necro and Human teams and completed the Snarfling that I've been asked to do) |

Yup, Snarf + Halfling = Snarfling Has been kinda commissioned by the same guy that's got George on his team. Not sure if he's going to be a player or a member of the support staff yet, but I'll be trying to sculpt him from scratch. Fun?!
George's official position according to the team roster is "Halfling Nutter" Think he's got all the normal Halfling skills like dodge/stunty/right stuff and then he's got Dauntless, Jump Up and Diving Tackle (works nicely with Jump Up) |
