Right now I am playing a Norse team in my Blood Bowl league. I have allot of experience playing the other various races that are allowed in the current rules. I have to admit, though, I believe the Norse Blitzer is the best Blitzer of all the races. With their starting stats (6/3/3/7 and skills Block, Frenzy, Jump-Up) they are just about untouchable. If you give them Piling On and Mighty Blow for their first two star player rolls, whenever they knock someone down they are almost guaranteed to bypass their armor and score at least a knock-out. Combine those skills with Jump-Up and you have one of the best casualty producing players out there.
With finally being able to hire 4 Blizers I am in a position where those Blitzers are gaining more SSP's in one game than most teams get with their entire team combined.
Do you guys have any comments on which race has the best blitzer? |

He IS vulnerable when lying flat ..
PS Don't try Piling on vs. Amazons. Your blitzers will get distracted |

I'll concede the fact that when they are are the ground they are vulnerable to fouling. But fouling every turn just doesn't have the same pay off like it did in the old editions of blood bowl, especialy when you get caught fouling on a 4,5,6 after the first attempt each half. |

I was lucky enough to roll doubles for 3 of my linemen so gave them guard, meaning my Blitzers went MB/PO for 2 for them, and MB/Tackle for the other 2. |

AV 7 and I don't tend to get along. My norse routinely get creamed when they hit the deck. I don't know if it's me or not, but my drunken northerners can dish it out, but can't take it. I envy those norse coaches that don't get a rash of injuries all the time. Lately, I'm happy with just getting stunned. |

My Norse team gets routinely creamed off the pitch. I have a full roster so starting a drive with a full team is normally not a problem but keeping them there <sheesh!> not a hope... |

Funnily enough, during the Dutch Open I suffered only two casualties against in the five matches.
Both in the fourth round against Longshot's Welfs for screaming out loud.
One of them my OGRE .....
They can dish out by the way.
Even a rookie team can destroy most opponents (xcept dwarfs perhaps ..) |

Heck yeah the Norse can dish it out. We just did the Chaos Cup tourny in our local blood bowl league. My Norse team didn't win, but I started the open season as a 100pt team, made it to the semi's in a league full of 175+pt teams at season's start. Your opponent can't score if they don't have anyone left on the field. I'm notorious for using my blitzers to push people out of bounds then hold onto the ball until turn 8 to walk it in to score. |

That, my friend, was the crowd. I did none (unfortunately) and so (luckily) did you.
I thought |

It does for casualties sake
If I would push a player out of bounds, even with an 'Opponent Down' result I wouldn't get any SPP or Cas assigned.
Same if the Crowd comes in and does the job for me |

I think Piling On should be compulsory when playing against Amazons without the AV bonus. They're leading with something other than their knee or elbow.
Liquored up Norseman knocks girl over. Liquored up Norseman jumps on top of girl. Liquored up Norseman isn't thinking about hurting anything more than her sense of self-respect. |
