Bevan wrote: This sounds worse than it really is, since CanCon is in January For some reason I thought CanCon was much later in the year than January. Consider my comments withdrawn ... MUCH too late in the game to change the rules ... agreed. Sorry to stir the water ... Virral's post just really got me wondering if there wasn't a simpler solution all along especially since so many tournaments have now played with LRB 5.0 rules and worked out very well (even the ones that allowed inducements to be purchased parts of the team).
Sorry Babs ... I honestly thought CanCon was later in 2007.

The other issue here is that there is enough of an attending minority who do not yet feel that they are familiar enough with LRB 5.0 to attend CanCon 2007 and compete for NAF points as a 'major' and so expressed that they would prefer LRB 4.0 over LRB 5.0 for 2007. Since it was more than a few in that minority I bowed to their wishes and granted LRB 4.0 one last time...
Please note originally I wasn planning it to be LRB 5.0 (and advertised MOAB 06 as 'one of the last LRB 4.0 tournaments'...) |

If it's LRB5, wouldn't it make it soooo much more chaotic and fun!

Maybe shambles is referring to it as official because its the National Championship (or at least claims to be - and I'm sure the RTC would back that up ) ? |

I've always been firmly in favour of LRB5 for CanCon. In fact, CanCon will be the last LRB4 tournament I attend, after that if it isn't LRB5 I won't be there (you may call me anti-chunky). |
