There will be a Blood Bowl tournament at the forthcoming Expo 2007.

Provisionally it will be 1.1 million, 6 round Swiss, and £24 including entry to the rest of the game convention. At the moment we are looking at 24 places, though it might be possible to get more space if there is greater demand.

Hopefully we will be able to post the rules pack in a few days time.

Tournament Rules

The tournament shall be using the latest rules, LRB 5, (which can be downloaded from http://www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/rulebook.asp), with the following changes.

Coaches may use 1,100,000 GC to spend on the team.
All Inducements may be bought, apart from cards, using the following changes below.
To purchase an inducement a team first must have 11 rookie players on their roster.
If you hire a Merc, his skill may be different for each match. You must write this skill on your roster before your match starts.
Goblin teams may purchase bribes for 50K, all other teams for 100K.
Halfling Teams may purchase a Halfling Master Chef for 50K, other teams for 300K.

Points

1 point to each team per game
Then five points are distributed for each game.
3 points to the winner (2 points each if tied)
1 point to the winner of the casualty count (1/2 each if tied, CAS from Blocks only count)
1 point to the loser if there is only one touchdown difference in the final score (e.g. 2-1)
Otherwise 1 point to the winner (who must have won by 2 touchdowns or more, e.g. 4-2)

E.g. Team A scores 2 Touchdowns and causes 2 casualties.
Team B scores 1 Touchdown and causes 3 casualties.

Team A is given 1 point to start, 3 points for the win. At total of 4 points.
Team B is given 1 point to start, 1 point for most CAS, 1 point for loosing by only 1 TD. A total of 3 points.

Dice

Your opponent must allow you to use their dice if you request. If he declines this request, then the dice may not be used for the game. The Tournament Referees decision is final for any disputes.

Teams

ALL LRB 5 teams are allowed, with the following changes;
Add 10K to all rookie and Star Secret Weapon players.
Team Rosters must be written or printed out before the tournament. You will need two copies, one for the organisers and one for yourself.
All miniatures must be correctly numbered on the model or base to coincide with your roster.

Skills

All teams will have 8 points to spend on skills for the tournament. These skills will be used from the first match, and then for the duration of the tournament.

Each point can be used to give a non induced player a skill that he may normally take.

You may use two points to give a non induced player any skill.

You may use three points to give a non induced player two skills they may normally take. Both skills must be from separate categories, i.e. one from General and one from Passing. This means that only players that can take skills from more than one skill category will be able to take 2 skills.

Casualties and Fouls

All casualties which your team suffers are healed after every match (i.e. you team will start with a refreshed roster for every match).

Only causalities caused by Blocks and Blitzes will count towards your team's CAS count.
Keep a record of all successful fouls and injuries caused by secret weapons on the match record sheet.

Prizes

There shall be prizes for the coach with the most points, runners up and the usual mix of most TDs and casualties.

If this still isn't enough to interest you please let us know what is missing or what you don't like for any future tournaments we may decide to run.
