the only other comment I would make is why would you want models for a team which is not yet official..
at least with alternative humans (whether they are spartans, celts, romans, cartoony style or anything else) they will get used..
what use is a frog team without official rules? how many leagues allow experimental rosters to run along side official teams??
just one guy's opinion of course..
and as someone who is responsible for the way some miniatures look, I am a little concerned that Jabo's sketches may not translate well into pewter.. they are great sketches to be sure, but do you really want miniatures which are that out of proportion?? they look more suited to a Pixar movie about retired super-heroes to me.. |

If we were voting for best artist - it would be Jabo for sure. They are terrific drawings although I'd agree with Norse that they look a bit "Incredibles"....
But for which team I'd like the see modelled the most, it has to be Antipixi's. |

Yep, there're the ones I voted for. To be honest I'd love to see a team scuplted in Jabo-style but as mentioned previously far too easy to make them look ridicules. Shame that Jabo can't scuplt the models as well, I'd have alot more faith in them retaining the look of the sketches... |

I think that Jabo's cartoon players would sculpt up quite well. But I feel that the style would grate harshly with the other BB/FF figures out there, plus when it comes down to it they're just not at all 'blood bowly' to my eyes.
Doubleskulls wrote: I personally wouldn't want Mordredd's idea as Shadowforge already produce a big range of female minis (Nuns, "Bunnies" even Orcs & Dark Elves) so it feels like that area is a bit saturated TBH There are a lot of different teams but there's not much range (just a slight variation on a theme). Whilst they could be used as Amazons, by virtue of being female, none of them are Amazonian in style or character. |

IMO, it's great for the purpose the Axtklinge's British/Celtic idea...
but it seems I'm one of the few thinking that way... |

Agree with Mordredd, there. The SF minis all seem to be playing with major cleavage and boots normally reserved for hookers (so I am told).
A female team, other than amazons, that might conceivably be playing the game has a gap in the market.
As long as they have pendulous breasts, of course. Good to see that Mordredd's concept art hasn't forgotten those!
Still backing the Norse/Chaos/Chaos Humans/Marauders though for the versatility, the art and the concept (the conceptual text is very well thought out). |

I think we´re looking for sketches, (so we can make modifications in the pictures). I think my pictures are in correct size, and its possible to do this desings in green, we only had to look at rackham miniatures. (I dont know who make the green) I think its possible to do something a little different that all pre existing minis. My concept represents a simply rugby team, whit another style. Elfic-human team
Sorry for my horrible english. |

I think the probem to translate the conceptual sketches to a 3Dgreen is not the general fashion or style of the miniature, nor the amount of little details on it. His humas are very clear and simpy, that' why I can no see any problem to do this miniatures.
I'm sure that the Jabo's minis will be done perfectly. |

Congrats Jabo, I hope my fears about translating these to pewter are misplaced...
many of the entries were very good and it may be that some of them will still find the light of day eventually.. |

Yeah Jabo ... it would appear you do win. One thing we need then pretty quickly as the time needed to sculpt and cast is rapidly vanishing. We need a 5th sketch for a Catcher as the commission was for 5 pieces. So can you create a Catcher sketch please (assuming Deathwing agrees that you have won).
The sculptor really needs to start work by May 1st if we want to have a long enough timeline to get these all sculpted and cast up.
And like Ramsay ... I hope they come out okay.

Well I think the vote was clear enough. It may be a little bit of a controversial choice, but these will be unique.. it's certainly pushing the boundaries of what we've seen before.
Thanks again to all the entrants for their time and efforts, I hope that some of the others do indeed see the light of day eventually!
(As a personal aside, I think it's cool to be producing something as a limited one off that wouldn't necessarily be viable on a strictly commercial basis.)
Thanks to all who voted as well.
I'll mail all the relevent parties and get the wheels in motion. I'm quite excited about how these will turn out!
Cheers. |
