A mummy in our league has gained a niggling injury through ageing (in his first skill role Shocked ). This has not come up yet, but it will soon.

If he fails his NI roll can he try to regenerate?

It seems reasonable to say yes, as other teams can use their apothecary to negate one fail. Especially as Undead are now going to get way more NIs through ageing than they ever got through regular injuries in the past.

Really Bad luck!!! Confused
Even if due a failed ageing roll, a NI is the same NI the mummy wuould have gained after a failed regeneration roll on a Serious Injury. So, no reg for old Tut..........
C'mon, it could have been worse...... Rolling Eyes

Cheers

No you can't regen a niggle. Only apoths can change niggles.

Firstly I hate the Aging rule.

Secondly it would make sense if they could. Not saying they can, but it would make sense.

Thirdly the aging rule really doesn't make sense, an Undead dude aging? A rookie High Elf scores two TD's in first game and ages. A double one is all that is required and it happens sooooooo ofen. I say get rid of the rule.

My two cents.

Getting rid of the 1st and 2nd roll may be reasonable... but completely removing the rule.... no way...
It's the only way to "penalize" in some way those super players......

I agree with your reasoning, but it is more for team/game balance without complicating the rules with special handlings for undead teams.

Instead of linking ageing to skills, I would link it to games played.

Here's how it goes :

You need to add 1 column to your roster sheet called "Games Played";
Everytime a player steps on the pitch, even for one turn, it's a game played;
After 10 GP's, you roll on the ageing table. Eventually, they'll age.
It works fine for leagues, as well as tourneys or friendly games.

What do you think ?

I think I'll start another thread with that !

I would be happy to compromise and take it away from the first two rolls. That would make sense to me.

Example of aged rule ruining a player:
Rookie Lion Warrior first game scores four TDs and the MVP. Ageing roll for first skill, snake eyes, Nig. Second roll a one and two, another Nig. I know this is a rare thing but it has happened and will happen again, how does this even a side up? No It makes a 90k purchase an absolute waste.

As I said above, the first two skill rolls should be exempt and the first ageing roll be a four or more.

Eg. Below table is our leagues next aging table.

SPP’s Title Ageing
0–5 Rookie None
6–15 Experienced None
16–30 Veteran None
31–50 Emerging Star 4+
51–75 Star Player 5+
76–125 Super-Star 6+
126–125 Mega-Star 7+
176+ Legend 8+

Also remember that the aging rule may also reflects all the "little injuries" that befall a player during training or gaming...
The experienced Phoenix Warrior may gain its aging niggling injury not because of Physical aging, but because of two or three nasty blocks on the same leg that, even without causing a serious injury, ruined his leg permanently... anybody who plays in some sport has a dozen little aches.... Smile

The idea sounds nice, but I do't think that adding more paperwork would improve the game that much, also, you can have monster players after only five or six matches.....
