Yes, I think that one normal BB game and 2 DB games on day one will be enough. Even with the strict timer rules and all that, we all know that these tournaments always run slower than expected. Just getting things organzied between games and stuff takes time.
I'd also like to start before 10am on the Saturday. But I'll start at anytime, as long as I start.
Last year, wasn't there two games on the Sunday? A normal BB game followed by the DB game? It did finish a bit late, but with the timer rules, it may be better. This would give us 5 games for the weekend. 2 Normal games and 3 DB games. I think I like it. |

Yeah I think you might be going to get your wish Marc_andre.
so I think we should have a timetable like this:
Saturday:
8-9 register
9-1 DB game 1
1-2 Lunch
2-6 DB game 2
6-7 diner
8-10 BB game 1
10-late whatever you like
Sunday
9-1 DB game 3
1-2 lunch
2-4 BB game 2
4.30-5 prizes
5 home
with strict timers and games ending at the allotted times |

If we can keep it on time, then we actually finish an hour ealier - there is one accounted for between dinner and the BB game.
But seriously Joe, either give up the journals or buy a dictaphone! Then we can have a hope of being on time! |

Random first matches is what causes people to play against people they normally play.
If you having the regular game as the last game of Day 1, then get people to write down the names of 2-3 people they've never played before, and then pair people vs these people. Its a bit of work but not so much that causes major complications.
You could even do this for the first game, etc... |

I would think that pairing for the first game would probably be best, as there are no rankings yet. I like this idea. |

the only issue with a regular game for the first match is that we end up with an early lunch. |

Good idea Spazz, I'll bring an automatic recording device to the tournament
Your right about the times, I am a bit sick right now and yesterday was a bad brain day. |

You've already played Spazz. This pairing is not intended to be a rematch, its to allow people to play someone they have NEVER played before.
Whats wrong with early lunch? No one easts breakfast. |

I know - couldn't resist the heads up to Marc-andre that I am gunning for him!
I totally agree though, it really bugs me when you travel a long distance to a tourney and end up only playing guys who are local to you anyways. |

Well Craig, The problem you have will always continue to be a problem because everyone from Brampton is a loser, and therefore always get seeded in the lower bracket with the other losers. Thus creating the problem of you losers always playing each other.
BOOYEAH! |
