Bobby goes by Zarhan (High Elf Catcher). Great tournament, I hope to see you all @ Gencon next year again. I will try to make the Chaos Cup, but no promises.

Bobbo Bobby ... I didn't get to see your roster ... did you have any Runners or Assassins? If so ... how many of each?
Bobby had a great tournament and could very arguably be said to have won the darn thing if we were just using the most simplist scoring system. Every year I learn more as a tournament organizer and try to tweak the system to make it better.

Just out of curiousity, how long does it take before the results hit the site and update. Not that I am in a hurry, just curious.

My roster was 1 runner (80k), 4 blitzers (400k), 6 line elves (420k), 2 rr's (100k) , 0 ff. I actually picked up 3 dodges, 1 stip ball for blitzers, 1 leadership for runner, and 1 block for line elf. I actually think leap with a blitzer will be one of my changes next time out. This was my first time with Dark Elves, I did have a lot of experience with High Elves, so the tactics were kind of similiar.
Congrats to Frank, I really liked the fig with blitz, really did well with that one, as I fell into it's perfect path twice. I played four very good players, and one rookie who could become good with some practice. I believe my games were with Frank, Galvin, Colvin, Mathew and Sean. I am not good with names, I should write down more.
Also congrats to Tom's brother, he was under the radar, but continued his streak. I was part of that streak, but I do want to say it for all to hear, he has played in each Gen Con, as I have, and he is undefeated, a few ties, but no losses, and we know how tough the competition is with guys like Frank, Brian, Galvin, Wolfgang, and many many more.

One more thing, sorry this was my best outing yet in terms of scoring at any tournament, so I am happy with where I placed, and am even more hungry to move up the table.

For those who enjoy having their flights canceled, reopened, delayed, connections missed, connections rescheduled, and enjoy hanging around people more or less having emotional meltdown at severely underpaid United Airlines check in employees...may I recommend having a connecting flight from Chicago during a Storm?
Good grief that was a seriously stressful adventure getting home. The amusing part was the fact that I was not the one having the biggest meltdown. In fact, I pretty much was able to laugh at the absurdity of human kind trying to work around mother nature's tantrums.
The happy ending to all if this is that AJ and I got home safely...sick as dogs...late as all get out...but safely.
I still had a absolutely fantastic time at GenCon this year. My wallet is still not speaking to me, but what can you do?
I'll get the pictures up that approriate for public consumption in the (hopefully) not too distant future.
Now I wait in eager antici......pation to find out if AJ or I unseated the USA Vampire Champion...
Oh...and lawquoter....WoooOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOOOOooooo. |
