Hey guys great tourney, the Death-Bowl has been saved afterall (I was probably the biggest skeptic on if the 4 game system would work) & as much as it erks me to admit that I was wrong, it was an awsome success, well you know! Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Guys the format worked great, I saw no real problem with the system at all. I am glad the assisting of others blocks was reinstalled (it really made for some great situations!!!)

Are all the newcomers going to register for NAF? (I'm sure a few did not register (like Alex, TD leader)

Thanks to Joe for co-hosting a great tourney & for letting me crash at you're appartment.

Thanks to Marc-Andre for also co-hosting the tourney & having a great program for the stats (I want a copy if possible)

Thanks to Glenn for also co-hosting the tourney & tossing that guy out to the street! (some extra carnage off the pitch!!!!) Very Happy

To anyone else that was also a co-host thanks very much, great job!!!

Thanks to Ben for driving us back to Toronto on such short notice, because of suddon very last minute information on the situation of our return trip Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Confused Confused *grumble grumble* So thanks Ben for bailing us out.

Thanks to all my opponents (even Glenn's bro Adam (whom he & I never played against one another but we fu-barred each other in two different games into a loss!) I think a rivalry has emerged, next Death-Bowl I want him first game! Very Happy

Sorry to any of my other opponents for being a RULES-NAZI, but what can I say when I'm right, I'm usually right (usually=look at first paragraph) Very Happy

I'm happy with my results. In a 4 way tie for 5th (ended up in 8th with tie breakers) but out of 20 not too shabby)

1Win, 1Loss, 2Ties (both ties vs Joe & Ben, arguably two of the best coaches in Canada)

Congrats to the winners.....

1st..................................Joe Byers (Goblins)
2nd.................................Marc-Andre (Skaven)
3rd..................................Rob Keefe (Necromatic) Way to go Rob!!!
Best Painted.................... Craig Thompsin-Wood
Most TD's........................Alex??? (Wood Elves)
Most CAS......................Rod Davidson "ME" (Lizardmen)
Best defence................"Egg-Ball" Mike? (Chaos Dwarves
Healthiest Opponent......Peter Meers (Necromatic)
Brass Ass & Wooden Spoon.......Steve ? (Orc?)

Did I miss anyone or get any wrong?

Well it's 1:38am I'm a bit tired, gonna crash soon.

Thanks again guys & if I forgot to congradulate or thank anyone, sorry, but thanks/congrats!

CHEERS, Rod

P.S. when are the game results going to be entered, I mean , like whats taking soo long? Wink Laughing

The Goblin roster that Joe was using (designed by other people ironically enough, he didn't know what the team was like before he started the first game) was a menace. All 4 secret weapons, some of which had many increases (MV9, AG4 pogo stick, ST8 Ball and Chain, Hail Mary Pass Bombardier ...), with no refs, was a nightmare to play against.

And Joe played them well. Couldn't hit the stupid pogo stick, who really was the key to the team.

And yes, the Los Luchadores finished 17th. Dan's Ogres finished 14th.

One prize that Rod forgot to mention, Baddest Ogre, went to Dan.

I also got the matching Eagle book end (as Glen put it ) for Best Sportsman.

Glen , Joe , Marc Andre....you guys did an amazing job in hosting the Death Bowl for the first year in Ottawa. I for one will be back for sure.
To all my opponents a big thanks for the games. Had some serious problems trying to figure out who to give the sportsman points to. Felt it was abit harsh to give only 1 point to someone on each table. Personally you all should have gotten 3.
Do not know who made the food on the first day, but it was top notch eats....was also a nice change from pizza.
Congrats to all the winners!!!!!!!
See you all in January for the C.C.K.O. `08.

The tournament went even better than we hoped it would. Thanks to all those who came, and comisserations to all those with various housing related problems which kept them away from what was a pretty unique experience.

The info that Clan-Skaven posted is right for the trophies, with the addition of Taxal as the Best Sportsman and it was Alex Bouchard who got the most TDs and lost 3rd on a tie breaker.

The results are entered but we have to wait until the 3 new NAF members are registered before their games can be put in so once ben has sent the information off we will just be waiting on the approval. This could be a while though as the NAF just organised the 300 player World cup in England.

I will post the full standings soon, including the individual trophy standings so people can see how close they cam to winning in each category, and how important each "Jones" was in determining their destiny. I for one am so happy that JudgeTudge "beat" me by 1 point for the Brass Ass

So thanks again to all those who came, please leave feedback up here so we can tweak things for next year, and thanks to those who already have. We listen, look at the assist rule for example Wink

I hope to see you all next Year at Deathbowl VI : The Year of Chaos

if not before at CCKO 08

Joe

p.s. Cramy, the Pogoer was Agility 5 btw

Did any of the 20 players not have or join NAF?

If so who?

3 people did not have NAF and they all joined. I mention above that we will be waiting for them to be registered before the results are up.
It was the first tournament for Alex, Steve and Adam.

So when is the year of Chaos going to kick in? Will that be for the next Deathbowl, or will the CCKO have it as well? Could be the incentive I need to get my chaos team done! Wink

Nice job on the Standings Sheet, looks good.

I like how you put the total times you're team won the most TD & most CAS on the table bonuses! (3 out of 4 games more CAS than my combined 3 opponents, My Lizards Rock!!!) Very Happy

Looking forward to the trophy standings.

Rod

"The Year of" is a Deathbowl thing.

The CCKO '08 will be very similar to CCKO '07

The two are very distinct tournaments,

The CCKO will keep the draft and allow only a small amount of pre tournament skills (80K)

whereas deathbowl gives lots of freedom and makes Chaos interesting.
We may make it compulsary to convert your chaos models to show the mutations you want to use....if that is workable.
