I'm on the verge of starting a Blood Bowl Clinic at my local hobby shop and have been abruptly halted. Apparently GW no longer sells the Blocking Dice. Does NAF offer the dice for sale? If not is there somewhere out there where I could buy a dozen sets or so?
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks
Thorfinn

If everyone in your hobby shop signed up with the NAF they could each get a set of dice and donate them to you for $10 a set. Barrting that idea .. next best bet is Tritex Games (but I just checked and he sold out). Okay after that your next best bet is to see if a specific GW country (like Italy) is still selling the dice under the specific part code they sold under (which I just went through a couple and didn't find any ... but someone might know). And my finally if all else fails ... you can use Impact! Miniatures D6s for your league.

I am not a huge fan of these dice but if you can't get GW, they do the job well
and they double as d6 as well with numbers and pics

http://www.impactminiatures.com/index.php?option=dice

And they come in various color combinations

But they are $6 compared to $10 for NAF Dice (set of 3)

when GW sold theres they where .50 cents each

Speaking about the specific case, I can assure you that GW Italy doesn't sell the dice. Crying or Very sad

As long as you do not infringe upon any copyrights, you could get a company like Chessex to make a set of blocking dice for you - just choose the symbols that you want to represent each of the block dice results. I have a set from a tourney in Span that did just that - I have the pics at home, will post them later.

Yeah only problem is this is not a cheap option unless he is going to order a bunch of them (and I know he needs more than one set ... but you really need to make a decent order like 50 sets of 3) before Chessex's prices become reasonable (compared to the NAF $3.33 each).

True, it would be pricy because you would have to customize all 6 faces..... but it's an option worth considering if you are going to have a large tournament and you can give those out there.

I love the IMPACT dice. It's just so handy that when I go to roll dice, I don't have to switch between the block dice and the d6s. Of course, they look a little different from traditional dice, but that takes about ten minutes of game time to get used to.

Thank you all very much for the quick response and valuable info!
It looks like Impact! may be the way for us to go. Not a big fan myself but as GW has left us Blood Bowlers out in the cold my money will just have to go elsewhere.

I asked GW for a license to make the original pattern and was turned down. In fact I've tried to give GW money on three different occassions to produce items for BB and been turned down every time. Crying or Very sad

So I wish I could sell you original pattern Block Dice ... I really do.

If you knew the hoops I having to jump through to try and sell individual BB figures now that GW stopped .. ugh ... it is a bit frustrating. But Dave and I are both talking about things we can do to help improve the siutation ... so at least this all happened at a time when the community was in a decent position to actually react to it.

You can send a design to Chessex like we did...
We bought enough to charge $15.00 US for a 3 dice set.

Our Tackle Dice and Weather Dice

--------------------------

Here is our League's forum and 2 threads about the designing.
You will notice that the dice evolved, one thread to the next.
