I have been planning for a while now to make a new custom pitch with the idea of allowing it to be used for both regular and Deathbowl games. I decided on having a removable row of tiles that would allow for the width to be reduced so as to not have any extra lines to paint which could be confusing to some players.
The concept of the pitch was for the game to take place at a street intersection of a large city (which I openly admit was riped off from the Crossroads variant of Streetbowl). The wide zones are denoted by 'Sidewalk' tiles and the remainder is cobblestone tiles with the dugouts being located within the buildings.
In any case here are some photos of the work so far: |

Looks great so far, can't wait to see finnished board. But will it be heavy? & will the extra row of tiles for regular BB be added to the middle row?

Yes, the extra tiles will be the middle row. This makes it easier for the remaining board to be split in 4 equal parts. Ans, it will be HEAVY. The plaster I am using is very dense as to resist chipping. |

I any case, I am stilll SLOWLY working on this project and have come up with some ideas of how to make it go kwicker. As usual, the photos can be seen here:
Thanks for the offer of help gents, I am thinking as long as u are still willing I may divide the quaters among you to finish the dugouts (i.e. the internal building areas) as you see fit. Whether it be a tavern, brothel, bank or residence I am cool with it as I do admit I utterly suck at the finer points of painting/conveting. And, I will [witin my means] cast you extra parts to furnish your dugouts.
My hope in the end is to have this board plus special rules for the Q'Ermitt 2009 [if not sooner] as to win the best board award. Which I will graciously share with those who help out with the dugouts. |

CLEAR!!! <<PZZT>>
Yes, I am reviving a 6 month old thread!! But, I am proud of my work despite the long hiatus.
I now have all the bits to assemble ¼ of the board. Just need to find time to put into action my time saving idea . . .
here is the ¼ board:
Now just need to put the next step into my evil plan into effect . . . hopefully this will not take longer than 4 months (i.e. in time for the Q`ermitt!!) . . . not to mention . . . I hope it works. Or I WILL be pissed!!! |
