Hello all. Here goes:
ChriBBL (Christchurch Blood Bowl League) starts on 1st February 2009.
Ruleset: the league will use Living Rulebook 6 (draft), also known as LRB5 plus Experimental Rules. Take care ??? a number of rules have changed, especially Skill Descriptions. 24 teams are available (including Chaos Pact, Slann and Underworld Pact). Take care ??? a number of team rosters have changed.
House Rules: (a) Teams start at normal value (1,000,000 gold pieces). (b) Spiralling expenses kick in at Team Value (TV) of 175. (c) Special Play Cards are not allowed. (d) All other inducements are allowed. (e) Option 2 (page 34) will be used for the Most Valued Player (MVP) award ??? the MVP goes to ???one randomly selected player eligible to play during this match that was not induced and has not been removed from the team by death by the end of the match???.
League Format: (f) Open league format, no fixed schedule, frequent play encouraged. (g) A team may play up to 2 matches per week (cumulative from 01FEB09). (h) A team may play against another team, provided only that both teams have not played against that same opponent more than once in their previous 5 matches. Thus, consecutive games against the same opponent are possible. (j) Coaches are encouraged to play 2 matches in an evening, and to use (by mutual agreeement) the 4 minute turn time limit. (k) Team rankings will be principally by win percentage (win 3 pts, draw 1 pt, loss 0 pts), with tie-breaks by TD difference per match, then CAS difference per match, then TDs per match, then CAS per match. To be eligible for the team ranking table and bragging rights, teams must play a minimum of 1 match per calendar month (cumulative from 01FEB09). (k) No overtime is to be played.
Keen coaches: (l) Keen coaches (who want to play lots of Blood Bowl) may play 2 teams in the league, provided that at least one of their 2 teams is from the following list: Chaos, Chaos Pact, Goblin, Halfling, Khemri, Nurgle, Ogre, Underworld Pact, Vampire. (m) Coaches from outside Christchurch are encouraged to join, provided they visit Christchurch from time to time.
Location: Coaches are encouraged to join either the Christchurch Cavaliers (meets on Thursday evenings at the St Albans Shirley Club, Hills Rd) or the Christchurch Wargaming Club (meets Sundays at the Woolston Club, Hargood Rd). But there is no obligation to join these clubs ??? it is expected that many Blood Bowl matches will take place at coaches??? homes by mutual arrangement.
Longer Term: I hope to establish a permanent Blood Bowl presence in Christchurch, including an annual tournament.
