Notorious_jtb wrote: Okay folks, preregistration for the world cup is next week.
I need people to firm up whether they can come or not so I can book our spots. The thing sold out easily in 07.
Canada has 4 slots, partly because we have so much interest here in the east. I plan to book two teams for the East on Wednesday, but I don't want to wast anyone's time so please reconfirm/withdraw depending on your your decision
Cheers,
Joe
I'm in for sure Joe, will check with Glenn today but I think he is sold on going as well. Will be an awesome time. |

Imagine, if you will, deep space near Sullest and the Death Star attack briefing on a Mon Callamari cruiser in the middle of the Rebel fleet. notorious_jtb has assembled his strike force to attack the Empire's shield generator station on Endor, but still requires a command crew for the shuttle. Chewbacca... uhh, I mean Chainsaw Jones roars his intent to accompany jtb. Princess Leia also volunteers to help out. Then, having just returned from Canada in his latest adventure to save Earth from the most recent attempt to resurrect the Ziox, Zap Rowsdower belches out, "I'm with you, too!"
Basically, I'm saying that I'm in. My OSAP is almost in and I’m pretty sure that I can swing it. Ohh OSAP (Ontario Student to Amsterdam Project), where would I be without you?
May I suggest that if we would like to organize a team uniform that we all invest in Canadian Tuxedoes! Nothing strikes fear into the hearts of opponents like the sight of a Canadian in his Denim armour.

you should plan the teams as well (required for the registration).
I can tell you that a lot of europeans are waiting to see how many slots from US/Canada/Australia are left unused, so be on top of it !
PS: I can't wait to see pictures of pete in his denim armor |

Yeah it looks like we have to do the team planning as lizzie says.
I will try and talk to folks this weekend about it. |

Yeah, because once February hits our reserved slots will not be reserved anymore. And Spain alone has tried to submit 10 teams with only 7 slots. So you know if you take to long, our slots will be lost.
And I think we should wear flannel shirts, with long johns and Pete's baseball socks as a uniform. |

Joe, you might as well take me off the list of people attending. The chances of me making it are extremely remote, unless I come into a shitload of money suddenly. I am going on parental leave in January for 8 months, and the loss of pay will be to much for me to be able to afford the trip. |

What are our numbers for teams so far? Are we going to have to pick up an individual or two, or are we going to have a legit team Canada? |

I have put us down for two 6 team groups for the East. The West has gone dark.........
It may be that some further people are not able to go but I am very hopeful of getting at least 1 legit team Canada out there. |

I am totally pissed about not going. But I can't commit this early on knowing I can't afford it. |
