The Ogre of my norse team had a BLAST of a match against a dwarven team, with 3 cas, and has now 10 Spp. He got his first skill and I rolled 2 x4. My question is which skill /traits should I give him. Stand Firm, Frenzy, Leader, so I have a Reroll for him?
By the way my norse team, won 2-0 (TD) and 10-3 (Cas) I killed and Long beard, a Troll slayer, and an Ogre, as wall as inflicting a Nig and - 1 av. He he he. |

Leader for the TRR. Then take Block next.
How on earth did you get that many cas against Dwarves? |

All of those selections are good. So is Dodge. I'm sure some coaches will tell you that you should give Leader to a Lineman, but you can guarantee the Ogre himself is on the pitch if you need to use a re-roll for him
Sticking with a Norse "theme," I'd go with Frenzy or Stand Firm.
Good job slaying those Dwarves.

I agree with the above, unless your league uses the "declare after" rule with Piling On. In that case, you would be wise to take that first and disregard the doubles roll. Your next skill will only be 3 casualties away, and one of your other players can give you the Leader reroll.
There *is* such a thing as too much frenzy on a team, by the way. |

I surely wouldn't go for Frenzy: he doesn't have Block yet and could get you into trouble.
If, like Skummy suggested, you roll PO after the AV roll, it is tempting to go with that, even though you got a double.
If you really want to take advantage of that double roll (as you may well be enclined to!), go for Stand Firm. I would also "wait" for a lineman to get Leader, but you might get burn that way...

I'd go Dodge or Stand Firm, but take PO next! |

I'd always take Leader on the BG - especially on an Av 7 team. That lino with Leader is just asking to get whacked. At least if its on the Ogre you know your going to have it available for him.
As for Piling On I'd think about taking it next - Leader does give insurance against double skull blocks. |

don't forget pro though, might not be a double but can often keep away that annoying bonehead...
although Pass is obviously the skill of choice in this situation |

PRO! PRO! PRO! I cannot stress highly enough. You can reroll a bonehead or a block a turn. what else does an ogre do? |

If you're going to go with Pro, you might as well use Leader for the doubles.
I'd go ahead with Frenzy and just set up your Ogre on the outside until he gets block. |

Does everyone realize that this is a Norse team? He's going to have 4 frenziers as is, when the roster maxes out. There really is such a thing as too much frenzy on the pitch. |

Oh the other thing in favour of Leader is 60k TRR - so 120k for each new one. Plus with Av 7 you are going to have to be replacing players on a regular basis. |

agree but it is a Sh!t load of fun. Frenzy on a St5 guy is even more so. Very fitting for Norse. |
