Hi all,
Am an Aussie who lives in Dubai and am travelling in on KLM airlines for the Cup.
Have never travelled by air with minis before and wondering do people take them in as hand luggage (and run the risk of the x-ray machines and curious customs officials) or do you pack them in your suitcase.
I am worried about them getting banged up and/or lost if I check them in or b) getting them confiscated due to pointy hats!
Thanks in advance,
Clay |

I always had them in my hand luggage (european flights) for the main reason that my suitcase can get lost, my hand luggage can't. Never had a problem so far - sometimes they wanted to see the mins, sometimes they even knew about tabletop and liked the minis. One time we even asked them if we can have a look how our minis look in xrays - not a problem.
So I would go for hand luggage. |

i confirm to, i never had problem in Europe, at worse asked to open and show. Never went out of the Eurozone with minis maybe they will be more suspicious but i doubt it. |

I've travelled Eurozone and to the USA post-9/11 and ALWAYS have them in hand luggage for above reasons. Pre-9/11 we used to have to open the case every time. Now they never bother as they're solids, not liquids |

Never had more than a "what are they" deal. have had "Wow, those are pretty cool" a couple of times.
I imagine airport security staff see a lot worse than toy soldiers on a regular basis. |
