I doubt if you would get 200 people into the Maelstrom venue? |

They can, but if you move it away from WW, you'd not get 200. It's easy to under estimate the draw of the venue. I actually also think it's an excellent venue, as it goes. Maelstrom, for instance, could squeeze 200 in, but it would be a massive squeeze, the bar is tiny, eating would be a nightmare... You'd soon be wishing for WW even on a hot day.
Frankly, of all the things GW take stick for; I've always felt that the minis thing was one of the least reasonable. They are a business that needs to make money out of their product, it's perfectly reasonable for them to insist on GW minis being used. I'd not walk into a KFC and proceed to eat other chicken, even if I offered to pay for the table. Their house, their stuff, their rules. And it's worth playing by their rules to be in their house for numbers, space and everything else. |

Always good to get a constructive post.
TBH th GW mini's only thing is no biggie for me about 50% of my teams are non gw including some of the stronger teams (my woodies are shadow forge, cd's are imact!, norse from various manufactuers orcs from black scorpion and amazons are phils phigs)
I don't play any other GW game and rarely buy any og thier products but the WW world venue imo is superior to maelstroms venue |
