first you need an image smaller than 80px square and no larger file size than 6kb
this needs to be hosted elsewhere on a file or image hosting site unless you have your own web hosting, I recommend signing up for dropbox if you need to
then on this forum, click profile at the top
scroll down to the avatar section, iirc the hosting on here doesn't work any more and you need to use the off site hosting, look for:
Quote: Link to off-site Avatar:
Enter the URL of the location containing the Avatar image you wish to link to.
then you need to put in the web address of your avatar image in this box, if you used dropbox, it need to be in your "public folder" and then highlight and and click "copy public link" at the top of the dropbox page and paste that link into the avatar box
then click submit and fingers crossed it should have worked |

Thank you, that was not easy to find. It would have never found that on my own. |

tbh it is nice to see some more avatars on here ;]
now if only we could get more posters and tournament organisers to use the site properly too... |

tbh, I have no idea how to use many of the features on this site. I have a hard enough time posting a picture on here since it is not clear how to do it, and I don't now how it would normally be done. But the avatar is something I will be updating shortly after reading this post. Thanks. |

posting pictures is the same as pretty much any forum and not that different from changing your avatar
just have the picture hosted online, then put the link in a post, highlight the link and click on the IMG button |

Fun facts:
a) Externally hosted avatars do not fall under the 6KB restriction.
b) If you decide to use Dropbox and paste the public link into the respective profile field, make sure to change "https://" to "http://". Otherwise you will receive a barely visible error message "The URL of the remote avatar is not valid", and the link will not be accepted. |
