Looking for suggestions on what would pair nicely with Pass Block on my 4th Gutter Runner. I'm already building a wrestle/strip ball piece, and got a 2 blodgers in the mix as well.

hey spoon, am I right in thinking you already took pass block? not the best of choices really but diving tackle combos well with it
I'd go for block and side step before it though or he may not last long, take a read of http://bbtactics.com/gutter-runners/ for a more in depth explanation |

Leap, leap then leap
if doubles. hands down, Nerves of Steal some would argue extra arms. you will be in at least 1 TZ if not more when making an interception. (NoS also makes you ugly on the offensive TD)
for those doubting Leap
With Pass Block, Leap is the most irritating combo. Look that rat bastard just leapt into my cage. Turn over leap or dodge out ..... |

I ended up going with catch, and thus far has lead to 2 successful interception rolls (one got negated by the stupid high elf safe throw skill). Leap ended up going on as a 4th break on the runner with 5 AG (now block, catch, leap +1 ag). It's totally fun to leap all over the place on a 2+ roll. Now I might play a Slann team in the future. |

Your opponents will soon learn not to pass near him. I'd ignore catch and go for block or wrestle. |

True, and that particular gutter runner is 1 TD away from another break so i guess it depends on what I roll, but a 2nd wrestling GR wouldn't be bad for sure.
The current Gutter Runner line up the team thus far is:
1) block, catch, +1 ag, leap
2) block, side step, jump up, sprint, sure feet
3) wrestle (I've replace this piece 3 times this season)
4) pass block, catch |

pass block and catch aren't great early skills, block or wrestle are usually what I would take first on a normal roll
block would have better synergy with the skills he already has, then I'd get side step and diving tackle |

To be fair when I put passblock on him I had 3 decently developed other gutter runners (as this one was a replacement for a -AV injury) but my wrestle/strip ball kept getting killed off. As you see from my post above most of the SPP went into the first 2 gutter runners so it took some time to get to that 2nd break. I'm not too sure on diving tackle on a gutter runner, while i find it to be a great skill, the number of times something actually attempts to dodge away is reletively minimal in my league. |

I am telling you leap
it works so well with pass block |

block will make him live much longer
side step will make him hard to blitz away from a target you are marking (typically their ball carrier as they near your end zone)
diving tackle will then make it hard for said ball carrier to dodge away when he needs to score
there doesn't have to be lots of dodge attempts away from him for it to be useful, it is a brilliant combo to be used in game changing situations
sure leap can be handy to have, but its no good when 70%+ players have block and are stronger and you don't |
