It's getting close to 2 years until the World Cup 3 and just want to find out if there is any news on what's happening so we can get planning over here. |

Any sign yet of the bid document going public? I'm keen to look at this 84 page monster! |

Hi Babs -
I think the Italian bid is very smart indeed. They have piggy-backed on the Lucca Comics & Games Festival (3rd largest such fair in Europe - 270,000+ visitors), which is the previous week. They are using the same pavilions, and, if the press reports are accurate, the tourney can/will cater for 1,200 coaches (by way of comparison, Amsterdam had 480, although this did not meet demand). It sounds like Lucca is a small town that is proud to host an event like the BB World Cup, quite different to a big city.
I think it will take a lot of smarts and a few rabbits pulled out of hats to get the WC to the antipodes. Not impossible, but by no means easy.
All the best. |
