The weird part is that five of his TDs came in the first game! |

I liked having a one day format. 4 games in a day is a lot and I think we were all pretty bad at staying on schedule, but on the flip side I think 1 day is more accessible for more players. Also it means you don't have to stew all night if you have a bad day 1.
I don't necessarily think having it at a con made much of a difference. I'd personally say do what's easier for you and what has less financial liability. There was something nice about having a contained space like last year. Also it was like a million degrees this year.
One of these days I'll get a prize at Blingtoof, but until then thanks for running it and giving me a chance! |

Thanks for the feedback, Kevin. I was pleased with how we kept on schedule, for the most part. Four games in one day makes it tough but, by the end, we were only about 30 minutes behind the printed schedule and finished by 7:30 which is pretty good for 4 games in one day.
As an organizer having it at a convention makes it waaaaay easier for me. I don't have to worry about booking a venue or setting up tables & chairs which is nice. I really like the Hammercon folks, in general, and think they run a great con so I was happy to have it there. |

Oh the other thing was those tables were too wide! I think it was 3 skinny tables. If you go with Hammercon again next year maybe ask them to set them up as 2 instead of 3? |

Alex took better pictures on his camera so I think they are coming! I think most of these pics are off of Chris' phone.
Down with cellphone cameras. |

I'll upload the pictures soon!
Thanks, Chris, for organizing another great Gitbash. I hope we can further increase the number of attendees next year!
Feedback:
I liked the format. The fourth game is always a bit rough, but it was still early in the day. I agree that while it makes it more unlikely for people from Ottawa/Montreal to come, it will attract local guys that can not commit to 2 days. As long as there are enough other tourneys around over two days (like Canadian Open, Q'ermitt or Warpstone), that is a great alternative.
Convention location: I did not mind that much, but all in all it was a nice alternative to the not so uncommon basement. It was interesting to wander around and look at the other tables. But the schedule did not allow for much interaction anyways. On the other hand, it allowed some other people to come over and get an impression of the King of Fantasy Board Games, potentially luring new people into BB. |

This was a blast, for my first tournament, I finished where I expected, it left lots of room for movement. Thanks Chris for putting this event on. I'll be back next year for sure. |
