To all members,

I have the pleasure to announce that the winning bid for the WC3 is from Italy.

My thanks go to the four other bid teams from Australia, Belgium, Denmark and Spain, who were unsuccessful on this occasion. Many of the voting committee responded with how hard they found the decision, such was the quality of the bids submitted.

Also, my thanks to those who spent so much time on casting their votes. I will be publishing bids, full results and more details but at this point our congratulations go to the bid team from Lucca, Italy, who took 19 out of the 30 votes.

Congratulations Italy and Lucca for winning the 2015 World Cup. Commiserations to the other applicants, I am sure they were all exceptional.
For people who don't know Lucca it's a beautiful city in the heart of Tuscany and a very short train journey from Piza or about an hr from Verona Airports so very accessible.
I look forward to attending and if anyone wants info about accomm, travel etc the Rough Guide to Tuscany is a brilliant resource.
Congratulations all
MrHannah

Congrats to Italy. Unfortunately for me probably a bit to far to get the better half to agree to. Sad

The other half will love Tuscany! It's Sue (my wife's favourite place) within in couple of hours your can see leaning tower of Piza, Medici palace and Ufizi museum Florence, Sienna home of the
Palio horse race in the piaza. All on a very reasonable train system
Honestly it's great

I agree, we really enjoyed Sorrento earlier this year. Just to far for a family holiday (in November). If it was just me and the missus, might be doable, but with two teenagers in tow... very, very unlikely. Sad

Congrats, I was hoping for Italy for no particular reason. Looks like great bids from all, so exciting to see such commitment to the game globally.
