I'm glad to see that the interest in this idea has taken off, but I think we need to cap things off at this point. We have 23 volunteers. That means that we're looking to create a squad of 16 players + 7 support staff (Head Coach, Luthor, Slutty Skeleton Cheerleader, etc). That's a pretty large squad.
Torg has a valid point about expenses, they aren't going to be even. If you aren't one of the ones that randomly gets a mini that has been graciously donated by Fanatic then you will have higher expenses. The good new is we're not talking big bucks here. Likewise, I'll be absorbing the cost of sending the mini's out initially to those painting them. If you have volunteered to do a conversion on the thread then I will take your name out of the random draw to paint a free mini. If you're not ok with this, then please speak up over the next couple of days.
At the same time, I think it's important that everyone has an equal shot at winning the team (conversion or no conversion), which we will have Andy draw from a hat once completed.

One last thing I added a new thread with a quick poll. Could you please answer the question when you get a second. The old poll got screwed up when I tried to change it on this thread so just ignore it. |

GW won't send the minis to 16 different people. One has to distibute them, ending up with 15 times shipping cost.
I'd say if you want a free mini, pay shipping to the "distributor", if you want to buy a mini or use one you have, you have payed for that. That should equal the cost out. |

I agree, that makes the most sense. I'm up for either, as I have to buy some new paint and brushes anyway.

Like I said, with my limited painting ability, I'd rather stay away from one of the new figures, so remove me from the draw. I'll put my name down for a Thrall or a Asst. coach (thrall who's been bitten 1 to many times )
Of course, when the completed teams drops through my letter box I won't complain |

And on the transfer thing, if it is possible, would it make more sense for Melifaxis (or someone else) to do them in one go, rather than some models having it and some not? |

i think this would look cool:-
Naf colours (Black and white stripes / red trousers???)
Naf Logo (Should be pretty Easy)
ANd this las one ive just tryed on a few of my new human team, u should paint you loggon name on you mini that way the Team will be made up of the 23 painters paintin an average 6/7 letter loggon is pretty easy.
So is it vamps? if it is i should be able to cobble t gether a nice conversion out of spare minis
EDIT: sh*t just noticed my loggon is 10 letters long!!! my player might have to have an extra large shoulder pad!!!! |

I've got an interesting idea for a set of 3 assistant coaches for Melfaxis ... don't worry about sending me a free Vampire fig.
If my asst. coach idea doesn't pan out ... I'll convert GW Part #020703003 into a cheerleader for the team.

Which one of you will create the turn marker? I think you should go with a cross-shaped stone grave marker on a patch of ground, but that's just me.

How about underneath the base for the NAF Logon? I think it would be cool if everyone signed them. If you fill the base underneath in with wall joint compound, or something similar you can easily paint or transfer a signature or your avatar onto the underside. |

Why not "name" all the players/coaches/cheerleaders woth the painters logon name, and write it on the base edge?
I can see it now.
"And there's asst. coach Darkson trying to give instructions to Tim the Vampire. Oh, and yes, Tim's taken offence at the way he was spoken to, and defence coaches Galak's I, II and III are dragging Darkson away for a needed transfusion. Back to the pre-game.." |

I'm already going to do that! I'm signing it underneath the base and placing my login there as well. I'm not putting anything around the edge of my base, I'll number (and maybe name) the model somewhere on the model itself. |

The TBB legacy team had the painter's login name around the base and looked OK. |
