I hesitate to post this as it seems like rampant rumor-mongering, but I've checked 4 separate GW store Facebook pages, all with posts from staff confirming that this news is in fact true...
http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/11/bombshell-blood-bowl-bfg-more-specialist-games-returns.html
Bell of Lost Souls will post anything even remotely newsworthy without verification, so they're not a reliable source, but in this case, with the GW stores backing this up... it may just be legit.
Personally, I'm not enthusiastic about this turn of events if it's true, but we'll just have to wait and see. |

And this rumor is officially confirmed.
From the Warhammer app, they have a new article titled: “Special(ist) News!â€
First paragraph starts out blah-blah-blah about new Horus Heresy box set, then,
“… we’re delighted to announce that it’s just the first of many new boxed games and stand-alone sets coming over the next few years.
Our all-new Specialist Design Studio will even be tasked with bringing back and re-vamping some of our old favourites. Blood Bowl, Epic, Necromunda, and Battlefleet Gothic are just some of the great games the team are already eyeing up.†|

It's true, they are hiring for several positions. I am planning to apply. |

Hi,
nice that GW takes some time again to take care on Blood Bowl. But after looking on the the page I am not really sure if they will support it for a longer time again. Miniatures doesn't impress me on the Pictures and the board seems to be much to long for a usual table at home. Playing on the long side of the board is nothing I really like.
Cheers,
Jurisch |

Not a lot of people will like playing side-long on tables, that's for sure. But, the many new players that the new box set will bring in probably won't care as they're new players. It's mostly the veteran players that will have the problem.
I, for one, have no problem playing sideways. I really don't know how it's such a problem for people other than the space consumption. If I'm able to see what's going on during the match playing sideways, why can't other people? I'm not criticizing at all. I'm just curious if it is just a preference thing or something else entirely. Either way, Blood Bowl is being played and that is a great thing! |

It will actually start to make more sense to play sideways, as it will be harder to reach the middle! Still not practical for large tournaments though. |

@ sann: Fully agree. You need more space without any advantage.
@ theazman: I am also happy that GW supports Blood Bowl again. The question will be how many new players will join after GW did everything to get pople out of their shops with new rules in Warhammer. Additional we will see how long the support of GW will continue or is it more a quick sell off of a renewed board game to the existing community to make quick money. The main work has been done by the NAF over the last years - supporting the game and take care on rule changes. |

Taller players will have the advantage!
It'll be interesting to see how the different tournament directors handle this. I'm sure it will all work out somehow. |
