What options are there for a TR110 Amazon tournament team? No Stars allowed, TWO skills per game (randomly assigned), no traits.
I'm hesitating between the following options:
4 Blitzers
2 Catchers
2 Throwers
4 Linewoman
4 Rerolls
5 Fan Factor
1 Apo
OR
4 Blitzers
2 Catchers
2 Throwers
5 Linewoman
3 Rerolls
4 Fan Factor
1 Apo
Option II gives me 13 players and an Apo, so this would be the Heavy Fouling squad.
I could also go with only one thrower and get 6 (or 7) Fan Factor.
Opinions? The new Rules Review will NOT yet be in effect.
thx

well tbh take block on the random skills a team of blodgers will be a right pain for almost any opponent
go guard on the blitzers too if they get the skills and maybe one with sure hands to protect against strip ball |

I would go with the first team.
The extra reroll will be invaluable going against teams like dwarves who have enough tackle skills to really shut down your team. But I would also keep the thrower. FF can be nice, but in a tournament I would go with the position player any day.

I would personally go with:
4 blitzers
2 catchers
1 thrower
6 linewoman
4 RR
1 Apo
2 FF
that way you have 13 players AND 4 RR...
having 2 throwers is not so useful with AG 3 and no Sure Hands... so better take another linewoman and using those 20.000 gc for buying the 4th ReRoll |

Aramil, I like your roster, although I've had bad experiences with a low Fan Factor in the recent Euro Bowl. Then again a good portion of my bad kickoff results were actually Blitzes against, and high ff doesn't help there.
Still I wonder if 3 Rerolls en 6 FF wouldn't be better, since it also gives you a decent shot at gaining more rerolls in kickoff events
So I guess thats a third option
4 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
6 Linewoman
3 Rerolls
6 Fan Factor
1 Apo
cheers

Well if you want more re-rolls from kick off events, the onyl one that will help you is the cheering fans - otherwise you need to buy assistant coaches.
For the record I did buy one for the Deathbowl tournament, and with the +1 to my roll, I ended up breaking a few ties (yes I did roll "Brilliant coaching several times)!

IIRC my RDZ II lineup was
4 Blitzers
1 Catcher
1 Thrower
6 Linewomen
Apoth
4 RR
9 FF
Give at least one linewoman dirty player asap
Otherwise you need a mixture of guard (blitzers), block, tackle & strip ball on the other players.
With hindsight I'd have dropped the catcher & thrower for 2 more line woman and an extra RR (you shouldn't be passing the ball around too much). Also maybe dropping the FF down and taking another linewoman would work well too. |

Thanks for all the helpful comments, guys!
There are certainly a number of viable options here, so I'll just pick one that is closest to my own preference of playing.
Which, after much deliberation (and counting of currently painted minis is the one that Aramil suggested.
4 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
6 Linewoman
4 Rerolls
2 Fan Factor
1 Apo
Ian, your comment on not passing too much is very true, although I do tend to use Handoffs quite a lot with my amazons, therefore that Catch reroll does come in handy.
All that is left to decide now is whether I want 2 FF or 1 FF and 1 assistant coach
cheers

BS,
I have to admit that when I saw Aramil's roster I did think it was the best one too.
But on the note of the FF issue, I would take the coach - but then that's just me (but I am SOOO glad I did in Deathbowl when "9" was rolled several times during my games and the extra coach broke the tie more than once!) I will leave it to someone else to talk about the mathematical probabilities and then demonstrate how I am right or wrong.

Well, I would hate to say that and then have him do all the calculations only to find out that I couldn't really give a crap!
I already wasted his time once you see...... |

Spazz couln't have been talking about Zombie, he said: Spazzfist wrote: I will leave it to someone else to talk about the mathematical probabilities and then demonstrate how I am right or wrong.
If he'd meant Zombie, he would have said:

No need to demonstrate anything, it's obvious with anyone who can add 2 + 2 that he's wrong. |
