Hey chaps,

Ironjaw (Leon Newton) and I humbly present the "Manjaw One-Dayer", to be held on Sunday 15th November in this year of 2009. Yes, that is soon. Wink

To be held in Meeting Room 1, on the 2nd floor of:

York Railway Institute
22 Queen Street
York
yo24 1ad

The venue is ideally situated in being right next door to both York train station, 2 public car parks and a large number of shops and pubs. The venue has a lounge bar downstairs, but isn't open until 7pm on a Sunday. You can, however, bring your own drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) into the room.

The tournament will be on one of the days Troll Bowl was due to take place. With that tournament sadly being cancelled, we thought it would be nice to present an alternative and give some of you rabid BBers the chance of some more dice rolling geekery. Otherwise November is looking a bit sparse to us northern folk. This is a hastily thrown together afair, so please do not think too harshly of us if it doesn't match the delights of some other tournaments.

This event will be NAF ranked.

Entry Fee
The entry will be £8 for NAF members and £13 for non-members, though this should include NAF membership (tbc). Payments can be sent to joehainstock@googlemail.com (note contracting this to '..@gmail.com' won't work). Please include your real and NAF names in this email along with your NAF# if known.

This event has a capacity of 26 people.

How To Get There
The venue is next to the train station, so if using that means of transport just walk out of the front doors, turn right onto the street and its the first building you see after the station car park.

If you drive from the South or East, you can take the A1 or M1 and then the A64. Leave this road at the junction marked York West and follow signs for the city centre and then the train station.

If you drive from the North, follow the A19 or A59 into York centre and follow signs for the train station.

Accomodation
With this being a one-day event, I won't list options for where you can stay. If you do need one, York is a tourist town and has countless B&Bs and hotels. The venue itself is right next to a Premier Inn. Contact myself or Ironjaw if you need any help in this area.

Things To Bring With You
Your painted team.
Your Blood Bowl board (as we won't have any spare).
Dice.
Templates.
2 copies of your roster.

Manjaw Rules
The Manjaw One-Dayer will be using the LRB 5.0 rulebook. The 3 new teams (Slann, Underworld and Chaos Pact) are allowed.

The Illegal Procedure and 4-minute time limit rules will not be enforced, though you may use them if both coaches agree. There will be a time limit for games as a whole though, so if you play slowly we may have to call a result early.

Undead or Nurgle teams may not keep 'raised' players from game to game.

Team Selection
Coaches may spend up to 1,100,000 gc on their teams. They may purchase any Inducements as part of their team for their normal cost. Coaches may include Star Players as part of their team only after they have purchased 11 rostered players. If a coach spends less than the 1.1m he will not be entitled to Inducements on a game by game basis.

Skills
Coaches can give 6 skills to their players before registration. These should be skills allowed to a player on a normal Improvement roll, not doubles or stat increases. No player may be given more than one skill, and these skills may not be changed between games. Any silly old sod found changing skills between games will lose all their tournament points they had earned up til then. Wink

Games and Scoring
Four games will be played on the day. The first round will be drawn randomly, with all further rounds using the Swiss system. The overall winner will be the coach with the most points at the end of the day - there will be no final.

Points are scored as follows:

10 points for a win.
5 points for a draw.
0 points for a loss.

In the event of coaches having the same number of points, the tie breakers will be TD difference, CAS difference, TDs scored, CAS inflicted, head to head record and alphabetical order of last name (except for prize positions).

Only CAS that would count for SPPs and crowd pushes count towards these totals.

Schedule
9.30 - 10.00 - registration
10.00-12.15 - game 1
12.15-13.00 - lunch
13.00-15.15 - game 2
15.15-17.30 - game 3
17.30-18.00 - break
18.00-20.15 - game 4
20.15-20.30 - presentation

Prizes
There will hopefully be some prizes. Due to the ad-hoc nature of this event we can't say exactly how many, but the more people come, the more there will be! There should at least be a small trophy for the overall winner.

We hope to see you there!

Joe & Leon
