An excellent tourney, aren't all TBBF tourneys? Wink Ian did an excellent job. I had a great time among friends, it was good to see everyone again! The 120 TR thing put an interesting spin on things. I was unaware of how deadly a team could become with skills out the @$$ like this! Personally, my AG5 Wardancer was a waste of cash versus the death machine teams out there. I pretty much felt like I needed a handicap roll or two with my 4 skills & agility when facing 10+ skills across the pitch! If I were to take Wood Elves again to a tourney like this, I'd invest in 3 more skills rather than the agility and a FF. Perhaps blocks/dodges on linemen. They were punching bags.

Overall, elves finished 10th, 14th, and 15th, with skaven at 7th and 9th. I think perhaps rats can keep up with the bash a little better with cheaper linemen and a Rat Ogre. The tournament seemed to be foul crazy, not exactly optimum circumstances for a wood elf squad. Shocked

As they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! If you'll excuse me, I have some painting to do... Wink

Its ConnORS! First you kill my troll slayer on the first turn, now you spell my name wrong, thats it Kolija, its really on now Smile

well, finishing 2nd wasn't too bad for my first tourney I guess. I really liked the 1200k format, it really makes things different and you can see some really interesting teams out there, more than you would with just 1000k.

Overall, it was a good weakend.

I think Kevin mcNall got 17 casualties and I got 16 (sooo close).

Brian, I liked the fact that there was no team building in this tourney except at the beginning. I didn't expect to like it but I did. With team building throughout the tourney game 6 is a very different type of game than game 1. Without team building everyone is playing the same opponent teams and the results can be compared more easily. Also, i got to get very used to my team and how it played which made the weekend easier on the brain.

Sportsmanship? You'll have to ask Ian. I am not sure why most people got 10 points in the final tally since each game contributed 5 pts.
Anyway, most got all 5 allocated in each game. A couple of people were only given 4 points in a game here or there. Two people had a big problem with a game result but they handled it with exceptional sportsmanship and Ian gave them each a bonus point for that.
To be honest, I suspect that it should have been out of 30 pts, not 10 but there was a glitch in the spreadsheet. What we did is we added up the 'lost' points, not the 'gained' points, since that was easier and then subtracted them from the base. In other words, a guy with 8pts had 2 games with 4 pts so a net -2 pts, which was then subtracted from the base. So if you really wanted to you could add 20 pts to everyones scores to get the 'real' value. It wouldn't change any rankings or anything though.

Kool thanks Kolja, now it makes sense. & If I forgot to say, great Job Ian You as always put on a blast of a time! You too Kolja, you were there when Ian couldn't so you also helped run the tourney smoothly. (Hmmmmmm the Tourney Organiser's Helper Takes First Place? Neutral )

I believe Ian refered to me as his 'lackey', not 'helper'.

I was suprised by your team selection, Cam. I thought all you elves would take a 12th player, an extra reroll and convert a line elf or two into position players.....

On a positive note, I gave BUD's Woodies thier first NAF non-win with my come from behind 3-3 tie in game one!

The NFBBA may not have faired as well as the TBBF, but we did score higher than Da Scum's crew! Don't you worry TBBF at the Q'ermit we will get you!

that be great if someone else didn't give him his woodies their first NAF loss. Tight game, but the Elves just couldn't stand up to my dwarfs.

Ah, what you ask of me, Kolja... Kinna be done! Maybe if the TR was 150. Wink Losing the AG+1 would get me another lineman... And what else is there to take other than more catchers? I just needed more skills instead I think. With a sub and a RR, I'd be down to 2 or 3 skills! Shocked

I needed a new set of dice for my Gutter Runners, apparently all they were using was a one sided die, just ones on them! Shocked

Not to sound impatient again............

Oh who am I kidding, I'm always impatient after a tourney!
But when will the games be put in & the perverbial button get pushed for the 2005 Canadian Open?

I'm not complaining, you guys do a great job every time, its just after every tourney I'm like a little kid doing the 'I gotta go pee-pee dance!' in anticipation to seeing the results!

Thanks in advance, Rod.

There was a pretty good mix of races used at the tourney.

3 HUMAN................. 6th, 13th, 18th
2 NECROMATIC........ 1st, 3rd
2 DWARF.................. 2nd, 4th
2 SKAVEN................. 7th, 9th
2 WOOD ELF.............. 10th, 14th
2 ORC....................... 5th, 17th
1 AMAZON................. 8th
1 CHAOS DWARF........ 11th
1 GOBLIN................... 12th
1 HIGH ELF .................15th
1 NORSE ....................16th

So as you can see Dwarf & Necromatic faired very well.
