Great stuff!
Peter Meers e-mailed me yesterday and said he wants to come too.
We have a heap of guys in Ottawa who are going to play.
I will put together a list when a couple more people say yey or ney. |

Be very interested to read the official rules for the ogre teams, as I am a little reluctant to play them after my experiences with the vampire team at Rod's tourney. Might want to play a team that is a little more competitive! (But then this is a great incentive for me to finish painting my "Luchadores"!) |

With the modified rules for Ogres, I was tempted to bring them. You may be as well. I also thought of Dwarves, just so I can bring a Deathroller. I mean cmon, no ref!!! My deathroller could play the entire game, hahahaha. Gotta love that. |

I believe you will enjoy the ogre rules.
I have been sticking bits of the rules in the front page of this thread.
But essentially Ogres get this:
10k discount on purchasing Pro skill (ogre players only not the snotlings)
The ability to hire up to two star players from Brick Fa'rth & grotty (one choice but 2 roster slots), Morg 'n' Thorg, Scrappa, Nobbla. (given there is no referee hiring the secret weapons is particularly nice)
And something which is not specificaly for them, but something they will enjoy, is the new rule on assists. We will be applying the normal rulebook definition of assists to this tournament. So you may only assist on a block by or against one of your own players. You automatically cancel the assists of any opposing players in your tacklezone. Guard works as in LRB5.
The main benefit of this rule is speed and simplicity. No long waits and discussions before blocks are made, its all action baby!
I believe the Ogres will enjoy this change more than some other teams due to their high strength. Therefore this change is particularly suitable for the year of the ogre.
Go on craig, we all want to see the your mexican wrestlers face off against maureen's. How cool is that gonna be!
Alliance Bowl is dead!
Long live Deathbowl! |

Yeah, when the assist rule was brought up, I thought that was awesome. Every man for himself. Stronger players have a bigger advantage I would say. There is no way in hell I am gonna run head first into that scrum. Between all the possible big guys involved in the game. That's a WHOLE LOTTA punching going on. Can't wait. |

Hey Joe, have we mentioned a price yet? I can't remember if something was decided. |

I think we should charge what Brian did last year, which was $40.
we are providing a bunch of food (on saturday) so that sounds fair to me. |

Wow, I think I might just be massochistic enough to consider taking them after all! Certainly some good incentves to do so, not the least of which would be showing Maureesn's Luchadore wannabes just who the real wrestlers are! Muy Fantastico! |

You have 1250000gp for team building.
You can buy improvements at the rate in the LRB book (20k normal skill, 30k doubles skill, +1MA or +1AV, 40k +1AG, 50k +1ST)
Ogres get Pro for 20k rather than 30k (hence the 10k discount)
Any race may buy inducements but only ogres are allowed star players.
There are no referees so the bribes are a silly buy
there are a bunch of rules listed on the first post of this topic and the full rulebook will be available in the next couple of days! |

I was 100% on for this tourny till my buddy [stupidly] decided to get married and have the rehersal that day. Man, his marriage is ruining my life!! Or lack there of if I think BB is more important than the holiness of love.
Dispite that, should I have nothing better to do in my life I may try to show up Sunday to present the 'You Suck More Than Eric Trophy' to the sucker who gets the spoon. Imma go S&M on that a$$ of who recieves the spoon . . . No mercy, Biatch!! It is my right as the 2006 Spoon "Winner" . . . .
Maybe we could have a spoon-off . . . actually that sounds REAL dirty . . . . |

I worked out a potential tream for the ogres last night and was not getting as much "bang for my buck" as I had hoped (those ogres are so friggin' expensive now!) But I have something that just may work. I think you can safely count me in for the ogres, as this is my big chance to finally finish off that team once and for all!
Who knows, maybe I will be the recipient of the "I suck worse than Eric" award! No, wait, Clan-Skaven and Talons are coming, so I should be okay....
Let all the rest of you fear Los Luchadores, for El Asso Wipo is going to break your back over his knee (with back breaking gesture) like so! |
