Maybe GW should write him off as officially deceased after the tournament then... |

I share the common sentiment though that this is a tournament for the Blood Bowl, and I'm going to aim to win. If Star Players help me do that, then I will use them, regardless of whether others think they are beardy etc.
I personally don't like them, but I recognise their strengths. I'd prefer the tourny to be without them, but as it stands they are simply a tool to help me win |

I concur with Redfang (sort of), and think that if a Star Player dies in the final of the BB, then he should be deemed dead. After all if the match is a part of history and a famous BB player dies in it, what do you do, re-write history ?
I know Star Players die all the time, but I would think the final of the BB would be a bit different. |

Indigo : I don't go to win but to have fun. So I don't take the most efficient team that I can find, but the team, I like. |

However, according to the BBowl rulepack, neither Luthors would appear leaving a Griff+Zug human team vs an Undead team... I liked the idea about stars dying in the final being, well, final! |

I know what you mean - I think my post came over as "power player" too much. I'm in this for the fun of the game, and won't be distraught if I don't win, but I want to give myself the best shot possible!!
Don't worry, I'm there for a good time too!!
Shame I am driving on Sat night, or I'd be joining you all for beers in Bugmans. As it stands, I'll be quietly sipping my coke at the back |

The idea of killing off a star player if he dies is interesting, but what about this alternative - creating a NEW one for the winning race?
Fair enough, some imagination will need to be used as a player can only get one skill max, but if, for example, my thrower throws an inch perfect long bomb while in 4 tackle zones having just knocked out 2 blitzers then it could be used to beef up his profile somewhat!
not that I expect my team to be in the final of course |

DW: Close, his lineup has and Ogre, Linemen and a thrower, 1RR and 1 FF I think, only 10 men. He's done pretty good in his test games though. |

I love that idea - If one dies, replace with a new one. Unlikely admittedly, but possible nonetheless. |

He needs to re-think then..you can't start with less than 11 players.
Good point coachblackknife, the absence of Luthor on both sides slipped right by me, although I'm quite well aware of the rule and indeed have 'all Orc Varagless' contingency plans in place. |

Geno, I'm waiting to see how close your line up is to Ant's.
Chaos...Nurgle themed...Borak...use of Leader on Big Guys...hmmmm.
I could take a pretty good stab at it...
I was gonna take Chaos for a while, then AndyH scuppered my devious Borak/Ripper/Thrud line-up. |

DW: Didn't realise you couldn't have less than 11 in a starting team, is it in the rulebook?
My lineup might differ slightly to Ant's, no big guy for me. I'm currently testing:
1x Lord Borak
2x Chaos Warriors
8x Beastmen
2x Re-Rolls (3 with Borak)
2 Fan Factor
Skills in the order of:
1) Sure Hands (Beastman)
2) Guard (Warrior)
3) Strip Ball (Beastman)
4) Guard (Warrior)
5) Undecided
What's Ant got?
I could always take my converted Beast of Nurgle as an Ogre, but I don't know how to fit him in the team. Would be cool though
Also, if you're in Bugmans on the Friday I'll give you a game if you like? |

I really don't know what Ant's taking..I expect it's under wraps and a case of wait and see..pretty much like my Orcs! (well somebody's gotta play secret squirrel, right?)
Drop a CW or something..squeeze in that Beast as an Ogre...don't forget you can use Leader on him...you know you want to!
As for Bugman's, we should be arriving early/mid afternoon. Doubt I'll have time to play though, lots of people to meet, dice etc to hand out, maybe do some NAF sign-ups, beer to drink etc.
And 6 games in 2 days is enough for me anyway... |
