Paris was pushed to forbid "indecent attire" because it could "provoke temptation and dangerous behavior along the bank of a river," Pascal Cherki, mayoral aide in charge of sports, was quoted as saying.....

I thought seeing half naked french girls were the meaning of all this. Rolling Eyes
So I have to change my first post. Gken... no monokinis for you then.

Well we hijacked this thread but at least there is some action into it. And I even learned a new word! Very Happy

Ahh Monokinis.... hmm, my dwarven slayer, yes that one in his Throng part of his bikini makes a blitz on your not very well dressed Gutter Runner. Gee, dark colours are so out this season.

Hopefully, Some of us from the FNBBL could make it there.
We did have a good showing winning the first US team tourney (New World Cup).

Heck Ken only had a 60% win percentage in the league. The problem is bank rolling players to the UK. Hopefully we can swing something to help a team USA...

Have they put any thought into Spouse activities while we are partying and playing bloodbowl? Might help those of us with spouse to justify the trip. Smile

VTDoogie-
I have no business being on the team, but I may be planning on attending. Do you know if Skummy or Dave are planning on going? Are you?

Anyone commited to going at this point?

-Rob

P.S. There are still 9-10 months to go on this, but it'll be here before you know it and whoever is going will probably want to make travel plans 2-3 months in advance. Also, if there will be some follow-up fundraising effort...maybe other NA Tournies can roll that into their entrance fee.

P.P.S. With Cyberhare's retirement...what happened to the fundraising dollars that the NA Cup generated in 2006? Brian?

There are a few that have said they will be going and a list of hopefulls on the zlurpee forums. At this point everyone is welcome to be on the team.

I'd rather be making travel plans now, so hopefully we will know more soon.

He handed it off to me, and I passed it on to OMM. So the money is still around. I'll be doing some fundraising at the zlurpee bowl. I'm not sure adding it into the entry fees is a good idea though, as the money won't be benefiting many people.

Brian, remind me: was this the entire amount raised or just the funds for the US portion of the effort?

Xtreme-

What I was saying here was not really a point for the attendees, but more for the TOs. Possibly donating 5% or 10% of the each attendee's entry fee toward the Team USA. It won't be much, but every dollar can help our young athletes a chance to compete! :RAH!: Surprised :RAH!: Smile

I mean it might be meaningful for people to know that they donated, but if the tourney was going to cost them X to begin with, it would be transparent to them.

Maybe have a spot at your tournies for auctions, etc...where proceeds can go to the travellers. I don't know...really just thinking out loud.
